HI AnnieDawn, I am so sorry for the loss of your mother...
I can't even imagine...I have been blessed...my mom is 90 years old...I don't know what I would do if she weren't here...
as I did just lose my father...but I am finding I can now think of him...and the memories bring smiles...not as many tears...
you will always have wonderful memories of her...and she will always be right by your side...we will see them again...I love your poem sweet girl...and love your beautiful picture...very nicely written...God Bless...love you...Linda xxoo

Thank you so much for your kind words and I am so sorry for your loss. We are unable to keep them forever and the memories hold us. I took care of both of my parents with hospice until they passed so it was difficult. I hope your memories are pleasant ones.

I understand what you are feeling because my mom and I were very close too. I lost her in 2001 but still feel the pain of it all. Thank you for sharing this touching poem, and best of luck in the contest.

Your poem takes you back to those times you walked with your Mom. It is true, nostalgia can bring out a variety of feelings which are seen in your words. The images of the pine needles and the moss adds to the impact of your words. You have a vivid use of words that creates a clear scene.

It is sad, author. We will always miss our loved ones departed. Yet, we will live for our children they are the now, our parents were the past, and we shall be forever grateful to have them with us. They in return shall be sad when we are gone. :( You have a good poem here, yet, on the last stanza don't you mean, "The walks I took (take) my kids on seemed too long " Though "took" is right if your children are grown and gone. This is a good entry for the Feelings Poetry contest.

Thank you so much for your review and kind comments, and yes my kids are grown now with kids of their own. Thank goodness they will have similar memories as they follow the same paths.

Your beautiful poem is heart wrenching and sad. It reminds me of the loss of my husband (ten months ago today, actually). It seems that nothing brings me pleasure anymore. Not even spending time with my grand babies, who do and always have meant the world to me.

The feelings we will never forget are the ones that stirred our hearts so much when we were with someone we loved. Nothing can erase the nostalgia that we continue to experience, until the end.
This is a beautifully written poem about your wonderful feelings with your mother. Cannot be replaced, ever. Good Luck.

"Sadness", is an extremely well-written and delightfully descriptive piece. Penned with craft and well-honed skill, it was a pleasure to both read and review. Good luck with the contest!

Thank you for your complimentary review. It has been so long since I have written anything, I was afraid as to how this piece would be received.
AnnieDawn,
you're more than welcome. Don't take so long next time.
God bless, take care and keep sharing!
