Love the illustration you've chosen to go with this one gw - the perfect choice to thoughts I'll bet we've all had at some stage in our lives! We don't say 'contemplate on' though ... rather keep it simply "contemplate life's new surprise" - 'on' not necessary or correct.

The entirety of this work has no comparison. A unique work from the author. Very thought-provoking.
"My trust is the nightmare, that played us a-part,
Now I contemplate on life's new surprise,
What is to happen, can you surmise?" My perfect areas.

What is to happen? People will continue to die of old age and the children coming on insist on their own experiences. The lessons of the past are not lessons for this new generation, because they have not lived it. I suspect wars will go on as long as people are born into hatred and greed, but I like that you ask the question in your poem. Giddy

Based on the last two lines - pregnancy seems to be in the offing. But based on the opening nine lines. . .I confess to a level of trepidation. But that is a traditional interpretation.
Another option would entail a new love (perhaps even of same gender assignment!) "Played apart" seems pretty final, so I can't envision successful reconciliation.

Bottom line. . .best I can surmise - - -is radical change :-)

This is rather sad. I always enjoy a poem that is peppered with question marks. I think it allows the reader to apply those doubts to circumstances in his own life. It creates a pause that requires an answer.
