All we have to do is look around- -we will always find someone who is not as well off or is suffering more than we. You have expressed this will in this 'rambling' of sorts of our depression, that feeling sorry for ourselves when all we need do is to think about those less fortunate and try to do something about it in order to feel better about ourselves and our situation. Thank you. Excellent title for this piece- -there is definitely something so polluting about pessimism

We're all given to complain from time to time and you are exactly right--over complaining is so negative. My younger daughter has a great saying that puts us all in line: "Get over it."

I agree 100% with your philosophy about wasting time and complaining. Constant complaining uses up the energy that could be used to solve the problem or to do a good deed. Good poem and good thoughts to ponder.

That's a good way to look at it, Monte. Unfortunately, everyone is not able to just snap out of it on a moment's notice. Sometimes it requires intensive therapy and medication, as you know. The poem was well written and made alot of sense. Getting out of yourself and helping another is one of the basic precepts of the 12 step program to which I belong. Thanks for posting this.

It surprises me that the industralized nations don't complain about third world pollution. Over time the pollution will spread. Very well written
