His deployment completed
He took his final stand
and now forever more
He's at rest in the land

Well done with this one, Buck

deepwater: a tender, gracious, loving poem about those soldiers who don't make it home. Their lives end way too soon, usually in a foreign place by faces never seen. God bless them, each and every one and please have a special place in Heaven for them to face eternity. livelylinda

This an excellent, emotional piece of our fallen soldiers and remembering the ultimate sacrifices they made.
This appeals to me as I am from a military family and know first hand the tragedy
of losing loved ones in battle.
The use of too many reverse syntax phrases is forgiven as (I think) it sets a sombre tone and formalizes this work quite well.
Very moving piece - eloquently written.
Thank you for sharing.

What a glorious poem for a beloved fallen soldier. It was a smooth read and very heartfelt. Taps, to me, is always sad and I get teary eyed. Good job. Miss Sally

"The Dark Of the Moon" What an excellent poem this is that you have created here. Commemorations to our fallen are always deeply appreciated. Were it not for them, we could now be living under severe conditions. Well done.

A vary well written and emotional poem. At first, I thought it was going to be related to 'Pink Floyd') due to the title. A beautifully penned poem with use of rhyme/proximate rhyme about a fallen soldier. Thank you for sharing this, my friend~Debbie

Love, love, love your poem. Perfect illustration. You have written such a special poem that so many can identify with. How sad for our soldiers, but what a glorious way of sending our soldiers to Heaven. My tiny suggestion is: the word "pierces". Does it need to be "pierce" ? I am not sure. I can see it both ways. As I said, your poem is beautiful as is the illustration. Thanks for sharing.

A thoughtful tribute and I like the way this is told directly from the soldiers pov. The honour and bravery is evident but too real here, is the consequence of war. Well written and I noticed you used "deploy" twice but it didn't affect the read.
Cheers P

War is a good way to thin out the youth. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very interesting read.
