Hello, you write about war very effectively, and it feels like it comes from experience ... I can't imagine!!
I think the rhythm could be improved by deleting the words in brackets below.
'...(We are) ready to make our stand ...' Just leaving it at 'ready to make a stand'.

I came across a book of British WWI poetry years ago. Not much poetry around about WWI so this is a treat to come across. Excellent rhyming and the message of the difficulty of war comes through.

this is truly a great letter of writting home in the time of world war two, and the shortness written smoothly in the structure,and say so much well done, and loved it, I see why it is a all time best. no errors

Excellent writing on this poem here. The picture of the old church or whatever goes with it very good. I think you are talking about England? The church just reminds me of some I saw there.
