You do have some words of wisdom here and many times in life, we do have to walk away from those who would do us harm and just start over. The problem with the piece is that it is presented as prose rather than verse.

This is an excellent piece with wise words, and I really enjoyed it. However, I feel it would read much better if the first stanza (paragraph?) was broken into two sentences. A 'full-stop' after '...weather'. Same with the second stanza. Broken up into separate sentences would help it read much better. But this is only my opinion, for you to take or leave.

Despite these things, I found your words to be so true, and lessons I have learned as I've grown older. Well done!

Deep Water, Your prose poetry tells a sad story without details of the break up. Your piece of work is interesting and expresses distraught thoughts of pain. Hugs. Carole

Wow when you put it this way it makes so much sense. I'm a person who does not like dischord and yet can be the cause of it sometimes. With that said, I'm the first to extend the olive branch and having done that enough times on occasions with one or two of the same people...I find your words ring SO true.
I'm simply flogging a dead horse and from this day I'm not going to bother trying to smooth out any wrinkles that flatly refuse to be ironed. A very well written piece and I liked the way you combined wisdom with great instruction and guidance. Bravo and thank you for affirming what I always kinda knew but tended to want to keep extending the olive branch or the benefit of doubt. No more...onward, upward. Ultimately we come in and go out of here alone...for the most part, we need to surround ourselves with good people and good company and then we may not feel so alone when that time comes. This was a great piece and so well expressed.
Cheers P

It's certainly a thought provoking piece you've written with much to consider about living, dying, and with whom we keep company with in-between. It can make a world of difference.Very well expressed poem and thoughts.

Very wisely spoken. "There comes a time when you just have to walk away from the hurt and drama". how true this is.
The four is because it says poetry but is written in prose. One thing more -- the first paragraph is all in one 'run-on' sentence and would read better breaking up into more sentences (or stanzas if poetry). But still, these are wise words well written.

This was a thoughtful piece. The flow was good, and easy to read. The message was clearly understood. The meaning of the poem gave valuable insight. I liked this piece. However, if you shorten the lines, and use proper punctuation, I believe the poem would have more influence on another person's point of view. Good writ.

Some body once said to me if you want friends, be a friend, and show others. Another great help to me was: if people offend you, God will offend you until you stop being offended! And these things have helped me enormously! Your work is an extremely well written, literate work, the descriptive text is vivid and poignant, I guess it is really prose! It flows with great imagery and imparts exactly what you want it to! Well done, blessings, Roy.

A man can fail many times, but he isn't a failure until he begins to blame somebody else. But, if you learn from defeat, you haven't really lost.
