You have in you the peace everyone craves for, author. :) Whether it is raining, or the snow coming down hard, the warmth that you feel is the light within your soul. So smile at all others, they wish that they were you. This is a good offering for the encouraging poetry contest. thank you for sharing.

Hi Mystery Poet,
It's true. Sometimes we get a sign that encourages us. Like you,
"I knew that light was intended for me"
A gift from above?
My younger brother died on July 2nd. He suffered these past 5 years with worsening Alzheimer's. That thief! In this Covid year, we had a short graveside service. People wore masks on that July 7th, and kept 6 feet of distance. The Wesleyan minister just finished the final prayer. Almost exactly on the "Amen", a hawk screeched high overhead. All 60-70 people lifted their heads at the same time. It was a sign! Everyone said so. Peter was a talented artist, and one of his favorite subjects was a hawk.
"a sliver of light lit my way,
a sublime and warm embrace." ... a sign, illumination!
And don't let anyone explain it away.
"I believe what I feel ...
a thousand scientific explanations
will not warm my soul"
Nice ending!
Good Luck in the contest!
And thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
Kimbob

Hello Poet,
You've written an excellent free verse poem for the contest.
That ray of light could be random or meaningful,
but faith will warm the soul like no science.
Excellent imagery.
Nicely done.
Best wishes in the contest.

I relate to this poem a lot. Walking the high/ moral ground, while also looking for validation. The "weather" can affect our souls, but some things bring us peace, whether it be a simple walk or a loving embrace. Nicely done!

I do believe at times the sun shines just for us. This is a lovely poem with a beautiful picture. It is encouraging to know often the Lord let the sun in just for us. =]

Oh yes, Roxanna, I do believe in the sun shining for me, and you as well.

Beautifully said! I agree that we know what our spirit knows - we "walk by faith not by sight." And all the explanations of science cannot begin to explain the mystery of light or the confirmation of faith in life's storms. Hope you do well in the contest!

Oh my, this is a sweet and lovely poem. I love your thoughts as you walk on the shady side of the road. I love the image by Andriy P, you used to reflect your beautiful message. I love that you knew the light of that day was for you. I take walks to think about my many blessings also. Yes, your soul will never be harm by scientific explanations. This was a very enjoyable read from beginning to end. Well done.

Yes indeed, that's the trouble with science, that warmth that the human soul soul craves is never going to be fulfilled by an abundance of scientific information, because this life is going to peter outm and will not be replaced by good news or things, beautifully written, my friend, excellent wisdom, blessings Roy
