Very well written. I must confess I didn't get the shirt part until I read it several times. Maybe I'm a little slow on the pickup. Best of luck with this. Have you considered one of the "Modern Romance" genre for a submission?

Thank you very much. Nope, I don't write much romance.

That was a really sad story, but you were right to go back home. You would never be able to trust her again, and you might not recover from a second betrayal. This is an excellent contest entry, and a winner in my mind. Good luck! (and I hope you found true love) Sandra xx

I've been very lucky, but I've watched several friends totally ruin their lives through betrayal. What a wonderfully written story.

Good luck in the contest!
Have a great day and God bless.

A great dose of willpower displayed with limited words. The picture pairs nicely with this heartbreaking story. "You don't know what you've got until it's gone, until it drives away." Nice work. Thanks for sharing.

This is well written, with much suggested, and even more left unsaid. Hence it makes us think about the relationships. I wish you well for the True Story Flash contest.

What a courageous way to reveal your experience. I am just crazy about this story. You show me how a story can be told with depth, complexity and danger in just a few lines. Beautiful work.

Sometimes the best way to end the pain and the ongoing suffering is to just drive away. Actually the pain does not go away entirely but it will diminish.

It sounds like it was probably a wise move if you didn't want to live though another breakup. This is a well told little story that works for the true story contest.

It sounds like a messy breakup. Driving away was probably the best thing. Had he seen her again, he might have given in to temptation. He would probably sparked false hope in the girl. It's always so much easier for the guy to move on than it is for a woman. This guy does seem to have remorse over what happened. This is a very compelling story, and so real-life. Best of luck in the contest. judi

Dear lancellot, I am sad that this is a true story, but you definitely did the right thing by walking away from the situation because it would have happened again and again, and only caused more pain. ( doesn't sound like there was any repentance on her part, so that's why I know you made the right decision. )
