Hahahaha! I wish I could see the three frumpy peasants. Did the two survive the third breakthrough? I think this poem requires a sequel. Good luck in this contest. It should be a fun one to score.

I must not be knowledgable in ice humor. I don't like the cold so I would not go ice fishing. I had to reread this piece to try and understand it. They are fishing and two of them went through or cracked the ice beneath them three time.
I am missing something that would help me understand this piece better, but I'm not sure what. I do wish you good luck in the contest.

This humorous 5-7-5, Don't Play On the Ice, has the right set up and notes that the peasants sink better and more often than anyone else who might be on the ice.

This is quite an amazing picture-the ice is so ragged and goes on forever! Good write but makes me shiver just thinking of the cold! Best to you in the contest.

A very well-written humorous 5-7-5 poem. Any fisherman fishing onto the ice have the chance to break through the ice when it is least expected into the icy water beneath.

-Good artwork and
presentation.
-The syllable count is good,
along with the topic, imagery,
and rhyme.
-I like how you tell a short
story with a few words
about these "three frumpy peasants."
-The ending adds the humor
from this misadventure!
-Good luck in the contest.

I didn't find it funny unfortunately. Clever wording to add rhyme and also the time period in history. Got some visual out of it. Thanks for sharing.
