Dear barbara, In this chapter I learned two telling things about our heroine, Katherine. Number one, that she could get very animated during the game, and number two, that she could probably coach the team as well as Gabriel. I wonder if she will ever be able to use this talent, somewhere later in the novel?

Football Chapter 15 part 2
Barb your Football Chapter 15 part 2
Barb let me tell you what I like about reading your writing flows with ease Smiles it looks like you know quite a bit about foot ball.
You got me anxious reading about Gabriel and Katherine friendship
wondering if it's going to be more than a friend ship.

Interesting backstory re her father is skillfully integrated--dialog and interactions are rich and realistic--I'm ignorant of football but I take it on faith the game is exciting.

What a great chapter. A lesson for me in Grid Iron I presume. Never been much of a football fan myself but I used to listen to radio commentary of games. Good read. No spags.

Your story brings us right to the game of football today. The main characters are football pros being Katherine's dad was a coach and Gabriel's a coach, too.

Wow, Barbara, this was a great chapter and a great game. The only thing. We didn't really see Gabriel's temper on display.
Only found a small thing: "You could right." = "You could be right."
Looking forward to what's next. Ulla:)))

This chapter is fun and I'm sure football fans love it. Sadly, I don't know much about it. Our high schools in Canada do have teams, but the games aren't the big deal that they are in the US. I enjoyed reading it just the same. Well done.

One little thing: "You could (be) right."

The Star Spangle Banner loud and proud." [I don't know whether you were trying to duplicate the speakers voice pattern, but of course it is "The Star Spangled Banner".

Katherine jumped up and put her fist in front of her mouth and jerked down, yelling, "Facemask!" [Ha! I loved it!]

The final score was seven-to-twenty-nine. [This is not major, but in all my years of football, I've never heard a score announced with the smaller score first. It would be: "The final score was twenty-nine to seven." LOL, but it is Texas football, after all.]

I'm questioning the score. I have always heard the home team last. I am attempting to research it and am getting strange answers. I will let you know.

High school football is big everywhere, especially, in the South and deep in the heart of Texas. But romance is big too, and thankfully that seems to happen everywhere. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the kind review. In all the places we've lived, mostly in the south, because of the Army, Texas takes it's high school football to new heights. LOL

This game brings back memories for Katherine. Here she is, seated in the stadium that bears his name. You do a great job of describing Gabriel's intensity during a game. He likes to win! I'm not a big football fan. I went with my husband, mother-in-law and father-in-law to the IU games. Father-in-law was a big fan. I found it was either too hot or too cold during the games, and the only part I enjoyed was the halftime show. Indiana folks love their football, but basketball is probably more the Hoosier sport. I'm wondering about those Frito pies. Great job of showing the excitement. judi
