You have such a great ability to draw the reader right into the story. Your characters are well balanced and the dialogue is well-written and natural. Great job, and I look forward to reading the next chapter.

I loved the way Grant's mother tried to save herself by throwing Colin under the bus, and his reaction was priceless! I can't imagine either of them will do too well in jail. I would imagine their arrests would be in the news, and their fancy friends will desert them in record time. It's what they deserve.

You nailed it--brilliant scene of the three--Marilyn and Colin taking each other down--I love it. And they shall live unhappily ever after. As for both pairs of lovers--Can't wait for their happily-ever-afters. I'll tune in next week.

Thanks so much, Liz! That's just what I wanted to read, that I'd nailed it! Everyone has been waiting for this part and I was scared readers would say it was an anticlimax. So now you know why I love your review!! Thank you. Warm hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

So it's all drawing to a close? What am I going to do with my time when you've finished? lol

Just a few thoughts:
I don't know what game you're playing, Grant, but you've certainly got a nerve to come here after what you've done to Colin? - delete question mark after 'Colin'

'You can't fool us, Grant, we know for a fact that bitch is dead.' - period after 'Grant'

He was well prepared for when Colin lunged at him - rather than 'for when' maybe just 'when' or 'as'

'Oh, but I have, Colin!' Grant said as he side-stepped and watched his half-brother fall flat on his face. - I doubt he'd fall flat on his face but perhaps he would. Or maybe '...stumbled into the sideboard/wall/armchair

She sat down and took another cigarette out of her silver box, and with trembling hands, lit it. - delete comma after 'box', insert comma after 'and'

You ... you...' she found she was yelling at the closed door after Grant had walked out. - maybe 'as Grant walked out'

The following day, Colin stood before the majestrates - spelling 'magistrate'

Grant had been the only spectator sitting in the gallery watching the proceedings. - I might have rearranged this 'Sitting in the gallery, Grant had been the only spectator watching the proceedings.

but I've enjoyed the most of it - maybe delete 'the'

And who knows what can happen. - maybe a question mark at the end here

Best wishes

Judy

Thanks so much again, Judy, for another really helpful review! I will be checking though the whole manuscript once this is finished, and yes, I have a new story that's been buzzing around my head waiting to come out, so I'll be back pretty smartish! Thanks for this one, my friend, I really appreciate it. Warm hugs. Sandra xxx

You did a great job with this chapter, Sandra. All the pieces are falling into place. Too bad Grant's mother got out on bail. She sure is a piece of despicable work. I saw the relationship between Grant and Tania and Monica and Jeff early on. I like the way those two parts worked out. I look forward to reading the next chapter to see if there are any big changes--like Rapier escaping or Grant's mother doing something while she is out on bail.
Respectfully, Jan

Sandra:

He who laughs last laughs best. It would appear that Grant and his team are going to get the last laugh and possibly a couple of weddings out of this adventure. I can't imagine Marilyn not doing anything that will ultimately cost her to lose her freedom. Looking forward to seeing how you will wrap this up.

No, Marilyn knows she would suffer more if she were to do something now, especially seeing as Colin is back on remand so she won't be able to blame him. Thank you so much for this lovely review, I hope you'll like the ending! Warm hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Things denouement-ing so well, I expected to see "The End" at the end of this chapter. I'm trying to think what else needs attending to....

he glared at his half-brother through eyes as dangerous as black ice. [Great image!]

nd the prosecutor, Rapier was told he would [Needs to be brought up to the end of the previous line.]

You've done another amazing job with this, Sandra!

Thank you, dear Jay, for this great review and the golden sixth star!!

Yes, all the main points are tied up, just some little things that will have the readers (hopefully) saying, Aww! about a situation that happened a few chapters back. (not the bedroom scene, lol)

Thank you for being such a wonderful friend and staying with me all the way through. I've really appreciated it. Sending over a humongous hug, dear friend. :)) Sandra xx

Hooray! Great wrap-up! So is the next week the end or are there more loose ends? Will there be a wedding? I half expected Grant to propose but he's taken Jeff's lead to use protection as a reason to stay close.

No more loose ends, but some small details that you might like to know the result of. Thank you so much, Helen, you've been a great reviewer all through. Have a lovely week! Warm hugs. Sandra xx

Well, Colin is not too smart is he? He's too stupid to play along with his mother's story and gives everything up. He deserves prison just for that! I guess Marilyn will find out soon enough she is a common criminal. If Colin is smart, oh wait, he isn't, but if he were he would have an attorney work out a deal where he gives up his mother and her plans to help reduce his sentence. I'm sad to think next week is the last installment. What will I read on a Sunday then? Do you have another story in the works?
I listened to the interview that was your words and enjoyed it. It was nice to see you had published some books. I am trying to decide if I want to pursue publishing my alphabet stories that I have written. I had tried to do the traditional publishing with my romance novel, but went with self-publishing, but then got lost in the promoting and selling of it. My husband wasn't keen on the idea of it anyway. He has no idea how much I write on fanstory.
Take care and have a lovely week! Hugs:) Sally

No, Colin has been mollycoddled all his life, and now Mummy is betraying him, too. She's not a nice lady. Yes, next week is the final chapter in this book, and yes, I have another book that's been burning a hole in my brain trying to come out! Lol. You've been a wonderful friend, Sally, and I've just loved all your reviews. The next book is quite different to this one, but I'm not telling you about it yet. :0)
You should publish your book, it will be a wonderful legacy for your children and their children and ....
I have17 books published now, only the first one was traditionally published, but they shut up shop four years ago. I've got 10 children's books published, four of those are adventure stories for my 12 year old grandson Eric. And I've also have my trilogy time-travel books, and a couple of poetry books. This one will make it book 18. I've only been writing since I joined Fanstory 11 years ago. I don't seem to be able to stop! I do love writing, though, and you should do what your heart tells you to do, you abviously enjoy writing, and do it very well.
Thank you for this review, my dear friend, and all those shiny stars. You're the best! Warm hugs :)) Sandra xxx

Lots going on in this chapter.
Grant knows how to push his mother's and Colin's buttons, and he does so very elegantly. Colin is a moron. Why would the mother prefer him to Grant; still haven't figured that out. On the other hand, I jumped into the story mid way, so perhaps I missed the explanation. Then again, Grant wouldn't want to have anything to do with her in any case.

I had a good chuckle over the following: 'Tania quickly slapped her thoughts into place. Jezebel!'

Now I'm looking forward to finding out the mystery of Rapier's change of prison request.

Very much enjoyed this chapter.
