Oh no! The missing wife/mother was killed by the narrator? Very spooky and scary! I did not see that coming as she seemed okay and you told the story from her POV. Great job with this! Hope you do well in the contest!

A good story. The fullness of it is saved to the end which is delightful.
The flow is good. The pacing moves at a nice tempo. The dialogue is believable.
