There may be dangers, such as exposure to higher winds or to the sharp vision of hawks. When migrating, however, birds often do climb to relatively great heights, possibly to avoid underlying conditions in the warmer air near the ground.

I like this because it does make you think. But yet it feels you have much more to offer even in this 1-6-1 poem. I feel that challenging you to dig deeper would only enhance you! So dig deeper! I can see you are have the chops just be more creative beloved!

These short little pieces can be very tricky, especially when trying to squeeze the rhymes in as well. The syllable count is good and the rhyming is present and correct.
I do feel the poem itself lacks something though. It's difficult to put a finger on but it doesn't really say anything or move the reader

Very nicely done .I wonder sometime what it would be like to be a bird just soaring through the blue skies and then wonder how they feel during a strong wind storm or weather .Perfect poem for the contest .Good luck !
