Excellent rhymed 1-6 1 poem. I understand the need to scream into space. Although, I don't think you are selfish when you are caring for your husband's father who is 99. This is a very selfless and loving thing to do for him and your husband.
Blessings and stay safe.

I commend you and your husband for the love and care you show at this difficult time. Your contest entry, Mystery Author, reads well with the correct formatting. The picture is a perfect addition to your well thought out words. Thanks for the notes, too. Best wishes in the contest.

Besides being technically excellent, this is much more than a scream into space. It's sensitive and hopeful for the best of all endings for a loved one. Excellent entry for the contest. Best of luck.

What a beautiful 1-6-1 poem about angels. It also creates a rainbow. I like the art piece, too. The syllable count is correct so does the rhyming.
Well done.

It is a must for us to express strong emotion in some way, be it screaming, laughing, or thinking. Close attachments feel like a pound of flesh is being ripped from our hearts when missing...Strength is spiritual, not physical...John

Hello anon, a one six one that rhymes - quite an achievement. You back this up with a lovely accompanying picture. Well done - these short form poems are not easy. Good luck in the contest - regards Dorothy

Poignant under the circumstance per your note--as it stands, a powerful and uplifting paean to heaven--fine work in short form--excellent rhyme. A contender for sure!

Do you remember the movie, Touched By An Angel? It was always sad toward the end. You always knew the person was about to get their angel wings. A touching movie.

First of all, I caught part of your scream as it careened through my space.
Caregiving is very hard work and challenging, and I know you're doing it out of love, so understand it is okay to feel like screaming sometimes; it doesn't change your love for your father-in-law. As time is getting closer, perhaps even tonight (suggested by your title), we will pray for you all. I know emotions, fatigue and sadness are all running their course at the same time.
Your 1-6-1? Absolute perfection. Great overall presentation. I felt as if a beautiful angel with wings of white light had come for a loved one and ascended back to heaven.
Take care. Hugs!

How have events been for your these last 24 hours?

Days are drawing closer and closer... It is not natural for me to think to grab a piece of comfort for myself; to steady myself. It feels selfish... thanks for checking back in... You are truly the first help and support that has reached back in a fashion that wasn't a pat answer. You've made everything clearer for me. I NEEDED your help and your vision. There are no mistakes. I found you at a the right time so AMAZING! Sending Much Love! Your words brought chills and a deeper understanding.

Dear lady, you are not selfish to want or need comfort. Because you are strong for others, we need to be strong for you and let you be you. A safe place to crash. Hang in there; please keep me updated.
God works in mysterious ways; that is why we are reaching out to each other. He sees and He cares deeply for you.
Your comments were very special to me. Thank you :)
