I so agree with you. MLK, Jr. was a fellow who did not like violence. He did dream of equality, freedom and unity for his people. He wanted everyone to be treated equal.

Thanks, Rosemary. Dr. King was one of my very favorites.

I agree with your sentiments wholeheartedly. It seem that ex-president Trump's antics (to put it mildly) and the pandemic has brought more hate and violence out. We need to stem this so we can go back to what was once normal.
Good luck in the contest

Thanks, Joan. I would rather put up with Trump's antics than Biden's incompetence. I'm sorry. I tried to hold back, but I couldn't.

You're welcome. You call inspiring and insurection that injured and killed people an 'antic'? But Biden is not doing as well as I hoped either.

He will save His. The world knows the state of disaster we face. They too face the same. The sad part, America has turned her back on God so it is only a matter of time she will receive His punishment. I Hope Jesus comes before all of that. Best to you.

Thanks, Ben. When Jesus does come, He is not going to like what He finds.

This is an excellent commentary concerning the current political situation in the USA. I would just make one minute change for grammatical reasons (I stumbled terribly upon reading aloud):
And freedom gone from sea to shining sea. > And freedom's gone from sea to shining sea.

Thanks Katherine. I think either way is correct, but thanks for the observation.

It was just a suggestion. No sweat.

Beautiful rhyme and rhythm. A steady beat and cadence. Flawless, but the topic is the main draw to your work. You are so very right with every line and you have managed it poetically. I wish I had a six to give this. Extremely well written. Great job!

Thanks, Wendy. I hope He finds us worth saving.

A well stated and written poem. I too have the same dream to banish this nightmare. Could you imagine if we were in this state of affairs when Pearl Harbor happened?
Good luck in the contest
Best wishes

I enjoyed all of this poem, but perhaps the last verse struck me as the best, saved for last, and as the perfect ending. It is so true, we can barely recognize the country we were raised to love and honor, as we watch the unbelievable things we see on the news. Thank you for this well-rhymed and meaningful poem. I hope it makes us all vow to do what we can before it is too late. Excellent job, and good luck in this contest. MM

Thanks, Adonna. You are right. The last stanza is the most important.

I loved this and as I was reading it I realize how much I agree with all I you say. I too wish we could get past all the animosity we have for each other and this whole "woke" thing. Can we just treat each others as equals? Best of luck in the contest. :)

Thanks, Boogie. We have to wake up from this "woke" stupidity.

Good entry for I have a dream. We can trust in a good God
who watches over his children. We can believe and receive his
love. It's time for us all to pray and speak out that we are all
connected to Christ. flylikeaneagle Stars ***************

Thanks for the review. I think God is disappointed with a lot of His children.

Your poem has been carefully constructed and very well written with a smooth flow, rhythm and metre and fine rhyming. I'm not American so won't comment on the political situation. But each individual can have personal spiritual freedom - that is promised.
