I loved your last paragraph - Why have I got this strange feeling that Meg's story has something to do with me? Eh, yes, I think it has! Another wonderful chapter that had my eyes riveted to the screen from start to finish. As always, you took me to the room and made me feel like a real eavesdropper during Bessie's revelations regarding Meg's unfortunate demise. Is she really a ghost? I can't wait to find out...

Your chapter reads well, Sandra. I enjoyed reading it. There are many great details in the continuation of your well thought out story. I like the list of characters at the end. I believe, and have all along, that Bessie is a key figure in the whole story. Up until now, she has been rather quiet. Now, though, what she has shared is pertinent to the solution Margot is looking for. The scene with the accident, murder, gambling debts, and family members (brother et al) gave new info into the story. I believe Bessie is a spirit who cannot rest until the truth comes out about everything that happened before the wedding that was nearing. Margot could be a descendant of Miles(m from the ongoing relationship they had many time removed).
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

I love how you work through my chapters and work things out, Jan. You're right about Bessie, she is a key player in this story. That's all I'll admit to, or deny. :)) Your review is simply amazing, my friend, I always enjoy reading them. Thank you so very much. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to give you the thumbs up, but I will give it to you. Love and hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

You've for sure sold the fact that the 42 days and Meg has something to do with Margot and what is about to happen. Now, I've become a jittering kid so anxious to learn the news. LOL. Thanks for sharing another fine chapter.

I liked the end hook as it made me excited about what to expect next. There were places that told more than showed but overall this is a very good chapter. Thank you for sharing and take care.

A block-buster! Spooky--so much to take in--you capture her sense of foreboding and of being overwhelmed--glad you set to allow reviews by non-members! Most don't. Gripping chapter!

A lot of juicy back-story in this chapter, Sandra. You left me very little (actually nothing) to edit. I only had one question, below:

Margot shook her head, then nodded. 'Yes, please do.' [Is this to indicate her indecision? Shaking the head is a negative signal, a nod positive.]

I've always had a hankering for your supernatural stories, with the hint of a mystery that needs solving, and perhaps entering into the past.

Good job!

Hi Jay, yes you got it spot on, that was intended to show her confussion and indecision. It must have worked! lol. It's something I do when I'm not sure but still thinking about whether to give in to my wickedly lovely grandchildren!

Thank you so much for this lovely review. That YOU couldn't find any mistakes has set me up with the biggest smile for the day!! Thanks also for that golden star, my friend. I loved both! Love and hugs, Sandra xxx

Great chapter Sandra! I'm thinking that the ghost isn't Miles. I have a couple ideas, but I'll wait to see how it plays out. It's very intriguing and Bessie is still a question and quite the character. I like how much she loves her coffee now!
Have a good week! Hugs! Sally

Really enjoyable chapter! I'm looking forward to someday sitting in front of the fireplace with a printed version of this book! The history and detail being revealed about the characters is flowing at a very good rate and readers should be fully engaged in the read!

My favorite line:

{'For heaven's sake, Bessie! You don't mess about with gentle lead ups when you tell a story, do you?}--I love how blunt Bessie is and Margot's reactions feel believable and relatable! .

Thank you for sharing! I hope you are enjoying writing as much as I am enjoying reading!

This is quite a story you have going. I was intrigued with poor Meg and the reason she didn't marry because her father committed suicide. He couldn't fact the fact that he had lost everything by gambling and had nothing to leave his family. Because of pressure from his father couldn't marry Meg. Meg's brother sounds suspicious. He blames his mother for his father's death. I'm wondering if Meg's brother had something to do with her death. I have a feeling Margo will somehow turn out to be a descendant. I love the way this is going. judi

I read it twice and couldn't find any spags or any improvements to make. I'd be a bit worried too if I were Margot. Looking forward to reading more.

Cheers
Judy
