Hello Wendy
A clever spiritual write. Dialogue was a good idea. If there's still time you could differentiate the speakers by different fonts or colours.
Good luck in the prompt.
Stay safe and blessed

Thank you Julia for your thoughtful review and good wishes.
Great idea and I have done just that, as yes it will help distinguish the speakers.

I have actually just slightly reworded it also, to make it clearer, as your suggestion made me realise it wasn't clear enough, so thank you again.

Good idea to use a dialogue to tell your 21-word story! I wondered if the second and third sentences was the same speaker as there is only one set of quotation marks. At any rate, a great spiritual message!

Yes, it was the same speaker in the last two sentences, so I have now changed the colour to differentiate the two speakers, but I guess the first speaker has asked if the second person would paint Jesus next, it's implied, so may not be very clear. Thanks so much for reviewing. Appreciated.

Good work in few words--I note this has the same requisite words as your other--just half as many words allowed here. Clever twist as to impossible to paint God.

Hello Wendy,
You accomplished your story within the parameters of the contest, well done. I love the painting that you chose. I've heard different people mention that the paintings that we see of Jesus are just speculation. Scripture mentions that he had no particular physical attractiveness to draw people to him. I guess we'll find out one day. Thanks for sharing.
Have a blessed evening.

Thank you Tom for reviewing so thoughtfully, and yes, that was the Scripture I was thinking of. I have now put the two speakers with different colours to make it clearer who is speaking.

So who is depicted in the painting? The artist refutes it is Jesus, saying it is impossible to portray his glory. Your story appeals to me because it is about art and trying to capture something that is beyond imagination. What a challenge for an artist!

It is an angel which has been painted. The artist feels he can do an angel, but impossible for him to capture the glory of Jesus. Thank you for reviewing ... but do you feel I need to make it clearer?

haha... no, that's just me being awkward.

Oh good! With only 21 words and three compulsory ones there isn't much room to move. (Rules!!!)

It certainly sharpens the mind!

Well done for the prompt response. I know for a while Christians didn't like to paint or represent Jesus for the reason you stated. Is that still the case do you think?

Thanks for reviewing - I always value your input. Some artists prefer not to, although many have done beautiful works of Him.
