Hi Sandra, when I read the description...
I started LOL...I could see why Margot
would have lost her temper...I wasn't even
in a room with her...and I lost mine...all you have
to do is look at her expressions...and you know she's
holding something back...

she would not have been good company in my group of friends...we were a bunch of gossips...just kidding...Hmmmmm...

I'm glad she got something out of the old bird...
when I read she didn't want any biscuits...first thing that came to mind is...you could probably see them right through her...

but now we know Miles is there...and he wants her to join him...but this could pose a problem...either you die for the
cause...or her and Bessie better go stock up on coffee...I see a lot of sit down meetings coming...very interesting...

this is truly one of your best chapters my amazing friend...
this is how I like to read a book...but not stop...sigh...
I don't even know where to start...it was awesome...now lets get to Megs grave...NEXT!!...

I loveeeee...I mean loveeeee this story told...well done my sweet friend...sending tons of love from right off the couch
wear I'm sitting...Linda xxoo

OH!!!!and Thank You JudyE...(she's a sweetheart)...

Judy is leaving us!!!!!!!! I'm going to miss her.

I'm going into hiding next week, because I know all of you are going to go balistic when you get to where I end the chapter. I laughed my socks off thinking about it!!! LOL. Things are coming to a head, but there is still lots yet to come. The final chapter is already drafted out, now I have to work my way to it. You're going to love it.

I'm loving the reaction I'm getting with this book, it's a lot different to what I was expecting. But I'm over the moon that every one likes it. Thank you so very much my wonderful friend for another amazing review and for the golden star that is brightening my huge smile.

I'm sending you a mass of love, and humongous hugs!! :)) Sandra xxx

NO WAY! Then Margot is doomed. What? Magot asked the right question! Why is miles and meg not together in the beyond? Bessie needs to come clean as too who she is? I have so many questions and summations. O Lord, Sandra. This is so good!

LOL, John, I loved this review. You will find out who Bessie is, but not yet. I love fiction writing, I can do so much more with my characters. Thank you, my friend, I'm delighted you are still enjoying my story. Warm hugs, Sandra xx

You did a great job with this chapter, Sandra. The details and events of it were interesting and propelled the story forward.

I've thought all along that Bessie is a spirit (ghost, if you wish). She shows up and knows so many things normal people wouldn't. For example the scene at the cemetery. She never leaves Margot alone during these important happenings. She's there when Margot is wearing the emerald green dress and silently slipped into the room with Margot. She knows the history of it and of Miles and family. The discussion over coffee revealed important details about the house, the occupants, and most of all the two letters.
Your next chapter will be interesting to see what the letters contain, and to reveal more of what Bessie already knows.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

Thank you so much, Jan, for this lovely review and the golden star!! Bessie has everyone guessing, but what/who she is won't be discovered just yet. :)) I love how you pick up on everything, you'll probably work her out before anyone else does.
Thank you again, my friend. Warm hugs. Sandra xx

I thought the cemetery scene was pretty creepy; I think you did a good job of creating a spooky mood and heightening the mystery of the moment. It is becoming slowly apparent that Margot is some kind of reincarnation of Miss Meg and Miles is trying to get her to join him in the afterlife. Bessie is a good mysterious creepy character to shepherd this along. But Margot has one foot still in this world and seems reluctant to go along with this, at the same time she is attracted to Miles. Lots of good suspense building here. estory

Thank you, estory, for another lovely review. I'm so pleased you liked the cemetery scene!!! Lol. You are half right about some of this, but I'm not saying what. :)) I'm sure everyone will hate me when they reach to last sentence in chapter 8. Thanks again, my friend. Warm hugs, Sandra xx

This continues to capture my interest, Sandra. You've done a fine job of building suspense, and creating questions, through this great dialogue. Well done.

As always this chapter was a pleasure to read! Thank you for sharing!
I particularly enjoyed the rapid change of emotion that was shown between the graveside scene and Margot holding the dress and then reasoning with Bessie about telling her what she knew.

My burning questions are:

What is Bessie's deal?
Why is Miles waiting for Margot to "come back to him"?
What is the connection between Meg and Margot?

I look forward to reading the answers in your upcoming chapters!

The mystery continues, and Bessie isn't being much help at the moment, but it sounds as though she might be soon. You've maintained the tension beautifully in this, and there's a good balance between inner dialogue and conversation.
Best wishes, Tony

Thank you so much, Tony. Bessie is a canny lady, she knows what she's doing. Margot has yet to find out what, though. Lol. Thank you for this lovely review, my friend, and the golden sixth star!! Warm hugs, Sandra xxx

Oh dear. That's not the answer that Margot was wanting. But at least, she's more resigned to the state of things since both the ghost of Miles and Bessie seem to already have a plan for her. Trying on the dress already had Bessie calling her Meg! And Margot didn't object.

Thank you so much for reading the book! It probably starts out slow and oddly for a kids' book. Appreciate the support! 💖

Your story is great fun to read, Sandra. Tell me, did you use the name Bessie for another character in an earlier book ... a very similar character, but a little more scatterbrained?

The buttons were the fiddliest, [I had to look this up. It definitely is a Britishism, but its meaning is exactly as you portray it.]

'He's been waiting for you to come back to him.' [Oh, my goodness, what an ending!]

Bring it on!

Hi, Jay. I think you might be remembering Mildred, my Cornish lady. She was a scatterbrain! Lol.
Bessie is Hampshire. I like to use the characters with the dialect of the local village people when I can. I've taken Bessie's ways and dialect from one of my closest friends. When I told her, she was thrilled. She is dying and doesn't have much longer to live. I'll miss her terribly, but she keeps telling me, I have immortalised her! Lol. She's amazing.

I was surprised you'd not heard of 'fiddliest'. I didn't realise it was a Britishism, so I've learned something, too.

Thank you so much for the lovely review, my friend, and the golden sixth star! Warm hugs. Sandra xxxx

I may have misspoken. Fiddliest is a word I've never heard. To fiddle with something, of course, is common. But I shouldn't have said it was a Britishism. It's just never been a Jayism.
