Great lovable story about your little sister, I would have let her sleep in her clothes. Lol, I did not notice any errors and I would love to hear more of these family stories.

Fab and thoughtful writing
about your sister. Sometimes
you never know what a person's hidden talents are.
One day, they bloom. My

Thank you. I think Beverly was smarter than all of us from the beginnig. She seemed to get out of all the hard work. Hugs

Aren't younger siblings great? My little sister and brother drove me mad, and I drove my older brother mad.

Lovely descriptions of your childhood here. It sounds like a tough but enjoyable time. I would t mind knowing why the Mexicans called her Cinco though, dead it because she was the fifth child?

Thanks,

Oliver

Thank you. The Mexicans called Bev Cinco because I told them she took forever and five minutes to do anything. We all just shortened it to Five. Hugs. Beverly was the last child of a dozen. Number 12

This is an excellent piece. I love Beverly and her pokey ways which you describe beautifully through examples. I don't feel the part of the middle sentence in the final paragraph is necessary. The first sentence about her teaching math is enough to lead to your final thought "maybe she was smarter than we thought." I feel more about her adult accomplishments detracts from the feel of the piece.

Thank you. You might be right but it is already in the contest vote today so I can't change it now. Hugs.

I truly enjoyed your story. It is well-written and a lovely write. It brought back memories of having to walk to school and cherry picking. I was a slow poke too.
Thank you for a wonderful read.
Best wishes

Well done Pokey. Never judge a book by its name.
A lovely story. I always like these endearing stories as they give insights to life, and the pleasant moments...often.
I enjoyed reading through.

Beautifully written my friend, I thought it might be true, at least in part, our granddaughter, although smart, has no concept of time, and it seems to be linked to not being able to tell the time. I loved this story, good luck in the contest, blessings Roy

Thank you. The rules say part fiction and part true. I was confused as to what we are supposed to post it under. Fiction or nonfiction. Hugs.

I really liked this story, and I can so relate to it. The cherry picking is something in I've done here on my land in Spain. Our valley is famous for it, and I be know how important it is to be quick and precise be about the picking. The season is short but be a lot of money can be earned. Ulla:)))

Your story about your sister is well-written, easy to read and enjoyable.
Brought back memories of my childhood, we had to walk a mile to school as well, and I remember when a younger brother started and he was poky like your sister. My older brother and I were often late because of it.
