'Pink Moon in April', is an exceptionally well-written and deftly descriptive piece. Penned with craft and skill. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review. I look forward to seeing your next post.

Oh, Beth, I'm learning all the time and I love it. It does explain a lot and thanks for sharing it with us. I now know much more why Easter falls as it does. What a lovely poem. Ulla:)))

Thank you for the review on this poem. I didn't realize that the date could vary as much as a whole month until I looked into it. I still don't know why the holiday has anything to do with the moon but now I know that it does.

Thank you Dolly. Unfortunately the moons name is "Pink" but it won't actually be a pink color. It has that name in April as a reference to all the pick flowers that bloom in April, which seems a bit deceptive. Last year my photographer friend was excited about photographing a pink moon but she was disappointed.

I've never taken taken a great interest in astronomy, such as it is, Easter has always fascinated me, until I knew the reason why it falls on different dates, it amused me. Other national days fall on the same date, no matter what. Bea written, you are a skilled poet Beth, beautifully written, blessings Roy

I'm not interesting in astrology, but I do find astronomy fascinating. I still don't know the reason the Bishops felt they should connect the moon cycle with the resurrection of Christ. Maybe the Romans timed their crucifixions with moon cycles. I wrote this because I'd already written four poems about the moon. I might as well make a book of them. LOL it many ways Easter is a pagan holiday but so is Christmas. I guess if we acknowledge it for the right reasons it is worthwhile.

This is very nice. I really like how you've woven together the natural significance of the day with the religious significance. Language and flow are both lovely. Great job!

I enjoyed your poems, and learned some things I didn't know, like how Easter's date is determined. I like your simile "like paint chips," and I especially like your last couplet!

Thank you for adding the informative footnotes to your writing. I had no idea why Easter fell on different days each year. Your poem is nicely written and I love the artwork you added to it. Good work.

Thank you so much for the review and nice comments. I've been confused as to why it varied so much too so I decided to find out why.

Thank you for sharing this poem with us. I enjoyed reading. A few years back I attempted to explain to my darling husband how comes Easter's date is varied. I just completely confused him. LOL

Good job, Beth.

Thanks for educating me on the ins and outs of the date changing. I never knew the true reason. Loved the poem and the education.

Hugs, Carol

Thank you Carol, It is still a bit of a mystery to me why these bishops decided the moon should have something to do with the time we would celebrate the resurrection of Christ. I don't know why they didn't make it the first Sunday in April
reply by Begin Again on 06-Apr-2022
Would have made perfect sense to me to keep it on the first Sunday, but then they always have to make things difficult. LOL
