I loved this poem.I liked the cycle of 'I know nothing ...' coming back to your daughter. Whatever be the age we live in certain things dont change..
You have the ability to write poems about any subject ,nicely rhyming too..

Hi again, Santha. You are so sweet to me. I thank you very much. This was a fun one to write and bring back two years later. I appreciate all your kind words for this oldie to honor dads on Father's Day. Only problem is that I thought Father's Day was this weekend. LOL, I am such a dork. Haha
Thanks again, my dear friend. Love, Debi

I read nothing.. nothing at all. When a story about nothing is done well it becomes something. I remember this similarly. This is well done. It's inspiring.

An honest woman? Have I entered the Twilight Zone? Keep writing good ones. we all need inspiration. I'm going to have to write something about a dork. The research will be interesting, having never actually met one before.(sic)

How can I not six star Sergeant Shultz. He always made me laugh as well although it was re-runs for me.
What a fun enchanting read, my friend. With a serious ending!
Blessings.

LOL, first, I just want you to know, Douglas, that this was completely fiction. The only thing that was true was that it made my dad laugh so hard and I used to sit on his lap and he would laugh so hard he'd cry. That is why I thought it would be a good one to tribute my dad. But I for some reason was thinking this was the weekend of Father's Day. LOL, and OOPS
So with that said, I guess it is only as serious as our imagination, right?
I love that so many remember this show. I actually hated it even tho I thought Bob Crane, (was that his name?) was kinda cute. And I was just a little girl at the time. Anyway, thanks my friend for having a little fun with me. I always appreciate your visits and your always kind comments.
Love, Debi

I was rereading my reply to you and I thought reading back it might have sounded off. I am sorry, I broke a couple ribs a week ago and been in a lot of pain, but I never meant to sound disrespectful in any way. I hope it didn't sound that way to you. Thank you again for the six stars and for your always fun review.

You are fine! No issues here.

-Good artwork and presentation, Debi.
-A clever idea for a poem and a nice tribute for your dad.
-I remember this show, "Hogan's Heroes."
-There were some zany things that went on.
-You do a good job with the repeating line
and the examples you share from your personal life,
and how Schultz's repetition of no either worked or didn't.
-I like the one about seeing your older sister in the mall.
-The concluding verse is very good, and your 6 year old
daughter had learned a lot from her parents and siblings.
-Thanks for sharing it.

But as always, thanks for the lovely review of this silly poem. I did use my family a lot as examples didn't I? Haha! I always appreciate hearing from my favorite Spice girl. (Big smile and a hug). Love, Debi

You did a great job with the non fiction part, Debi. It was totally believable. You are very welcome for the review, and smiles and hugs back to you😊😊

A delightful poem. I had a good laugh, and the image of Schultz reminded me of the many laughs my dad and I had when we watched the show. A great tribute to your dad. Once again, well done and thanks for sharing.

This is funny poem and I really enjoyed reading it. My husband always got a lot of laughs from that show. He should have picked up that denial too. It worked well for you and you passed it on down to your daughter.

Hi Beth, oh no, this was completely fiction. I wrote it in my notes, but yeah, all made up. LOL.. I actually hated the show so I never used the phrase, but I remembered how I loved how it made my dad laugh. It was so hilarious to see because between this and the three stooges, my dad would laugh until there were tears coming down his cheeks.
Thanks tho for the kind comments, my dear friend. Love, Debi

Hi Debbie,
This shows how kids learn from their parents and surroudings on how to possibly get out of trouble. It uses that line for Hogan's Heroes' in different ways for the same effect. I liked that show too.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Have a great day.
Good luck in the contest.

I too remember watching Hogans Heroes, and laughing. It was fun in its day and Schultz really made it. You've made good use of that line in your poem, and it repeats well throughout. Good luck in the writing prompt Debi.

What a wonderful ~ fun poem to read early this morning here in Spain dearest Debi.
I did find a tiny error...I believe you meant on not in
He came home and he asked me how that scratch got in the car
Not a big deal...
Loved this about your father...

Hi Lisa, thanks for catching the typo. Actually it might be a Minnesota thing but they do same scratch in or on. And I never thought about it before now, but on does sound much better. So glad you pointed that out. I will change it.
Thanks for all your kind words for this one. It was fun to do. Thanks for the gracious six stars, my lovely friend. Love ya, Debi
