Superb poem about technology taking over our lives. The poem illustrates in a concise manner the elaboration on the theme in the note. And, yes, the mechanical monotone added to the poem. I think you might have used this device once before, but I'm not sure.

Thanks so much for the excellent review and your wonderful words of support for the piece. I think there's more examples of this kind of style in Patterns, In my port. estory

I would say you met your goal with this poem. I refuse to allow my computer or anything in my life to take that much control over it. Yes, some things attempt too, but I stop them. Thank you for sharing and I enjoyed reading.

Estory,
Your poem illustrates how we can be cajoled into being lazy, and being controlled by computers, not the other way around.
You lull the reader into thinking computers are great,
your last line says it all. People become complacent as far as computers are concerned:
Why visit someone physically when there are all kinds of ways to do so virtually?
Excellent poem. Good luck with this one, author.
Blessings,
Cindy

Technology has taken over the things we use every day. It would be great if they could control the thoughts of criminals and murderers. Thanks to computers, our lives have become less complicated when it comes to planning. We need to find a solution to world peace and security now. Thanks for sharing.

I can commiserate with you
on this subject. I recall rotary
phones. If one was out and
they needed a phone, there
were phone booths everywhere. Libraries, doctor
offices, lawyers offices, everything was written on paper such as patient charts.
The typewriters were clunky.
Now, everything is so techno-
logical. I must admit I find my
smartphone a good source
of information as I don't have
a computer. When I was a kid
encyclopedias were the big
source of information. My
grandkids love gaming on
their tablets but we've begun
limiting the time they spend
on them. I divide artwork,
writing, and singing so I'm
not on my phone all the time.
Your writing is eloquent and
well penned. I liked reading
it. Brought back memories
too. Have a great upcoming
weekend. ~

The author's words are engaging, thought provoking, interesting, strong, descriptive and creative. As I read these words I was able to understand
this author's point. Then I read the author's notes - which said it all!
The poem flows and connects well. The poem is Awesome!

It's the trade off, isn't it? We accept the limiting and the funneling because things are easier. The most worrying thing for me is the auto filtering of news traffic, because we end up only reading things we already agree with, and start believing everyone thinks the same way. This is why everyone thinks they are ignored or victimised or part of the mythical silent majority.

I enjoyed your thoughtful piece.

Mike
