Gripping--stunning confrontation scene--what a twist--stupendous revelation as to the simmering rage Miles's mother bore for Meg's mother and thus to Meg by proxy.

You forgot to include the character list, and you repeated YONKS commentary.

Magnificent passage: Miles stood up and walked over to the window. How stark everything looked. The few leaves that had been left clinging valiantly to the branches of the old majestic oak, gradually gave up and joined the carpet of orange and red leaves already covering the ground. Even disrobed, the tree retained its elegance. It was strange how similar humanity and nature were. Both can be so beautiful, and yet both are capable of such devastating cruelty.

Thank you, Liz, for this fabulous review. And a special thank you for picking out that passage, I'm glad you liked it.
I've deleted one of the Yonks, and I've now added the character list. I was in a pickle with no laptop for a while, it doesn't like Maxwell Coffee!!! Sorted now. I didn't get to post this until late yesterday afternoon. :(
Thank you, dear friend! Love and hugs. Sandra xxx

Still keeping us on tenterhooks I see.

This was a fine episode and well researched I see. I thought miffed was too modern till I checked it out, Surprising how language moves in circles. As for 'yonks' this was common in the RM in the sixties but I had never heard of the donkey's ears/years connection.

What is the latest on your coffee addicted peripherals?

Hi, Jim, sorry for the delay. I went to have my 2nd booster jab, miles away from here. I had a reminder on my phone and an email to tell me not to be late. I arrived bang on time, and guess what? They told me, they were very sorry but because I was 75 only a few days ago, I have to wait until September!!!!!! I asked them why they couldn't have sent an email saying that, and not one telling me not to be late! They were sorry! I was boiling mad.

That out the way.... Thank you so much, Jim, for this great review, and the golden star! I KNEW you would check out miffed! Lol. That and yonks. I make sure I research everything I'm not sure of. I'm glad you enjoyed this part, my friend. Love and hugs. :)) Sandra xx

My stepson, who is a computer whizz, is going to see if he can sort it, if not it's going to be the webcam, with mike. I'll let you know when I know by email. Fingers crossed!

One of my replacement laptops was down to coffee spillage. My engineer said it was the commonest problem. However it did not involve the hard drive just the keyboard so the data was saved.

I had my first rejection notice from the agent I contacted on the 5th July so its back to the drawing board with another application tomorrow.

They shoul not have called you forward if tyou were not eligible. I think you should claim expenses as it was their fault.

I will await your instructions for our next video meet.

you didn't...Hi Sandra...I'm still reading the conversation between Miles and his dad...and the question out of Miles mouth was...What did you do with it???...you know...Lord Crawley's estate...I'm not moving on until I get the
answer...I'm still waiting...

OK maybe you put it in the rest of THIS WEEKS CHAPTER...I'll have to read it to find out...I'll be right back...nothing about the money...I'm going to go yonkers...

it's bad enough to have one of your...guess what happened endings...but no fair with two...I was so into the conversation with Miles and his father...I had my lemonade and pop-corn going...and all of a sudden my lemonade went sour...and pop-corn lost it's buttery taste...sigh...

well at least we have an idea what Meg will feel like
when Margot leaves her body...but still NO idea how Margot will leave...hmmmm...

well Miles is home...and he and Meg/Margot...are about to
learn about what Miles parents did to her dad...just not his money... and maybe about Gwen and Jenkins...and the one they killed...

I love it my amazing friend...each chapter gets better than the last...the ending will be very interesting...will anyone
be arrested for things they did...veryyyyyy well written beautiful you...sending so much love your way...forever...Linda xxoo

Thank you so much my dear Linda, for another fabulous review and for making me laugh. I really enjoy reading them. Answers won't be long in coming now, nearly there. So, who do you think is the would be murderer?? I actually should give a prize to the first person to get it right!!
Love you lots and sending humongous hugs, dear friend. :)) Sandra xxx

lets see here...maybe Gwendolyn and Jenkins...
Gwendolyn full of anger...and Jenkins full of
    her...love...

I don't believe it was Roger...I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him...
but I don't think he is a murderer...

and of course...we always have Miles mother and father...didn't want him to marry Meg...

and then again...here's an unexpected ending...it's Margot...she didn't want to leave Miles...maybe that's why she's been drawn in to the family...and maybe Bessie is her accomplice...the twilight zone...

ok maybe I got a little carried away...
until next time...soooooo welcome amazing you...off to therapy...and then to Johnny's favorite pizza place...love your the bestest...and big hugs on the way...smiling right back at you...xxoo

Quite a huge ordeal going on which has caused envy and jealousy at once in the Brandon family. The family will find out what has happened and there will be no more lies.

Great scene. Lord and Lady Brandon really show their true colors. It's so sad their marriage was ruined by his attraction to Emma. Miles really confronts his father. It's true that what happened in the past meant driving Meg's father to commit suicide and for Meg's happiness to be ruined, unless the intervention by Margot and Bessie saves Meg. You really do a good job of keeping true to the time frame. judi

Thank you so very much, Judi, for another fabulous review and for the gold medal sixth star!!!! The past is what has driven all this, so many sad, and ugly, happenings that it has come to the point of ruining so many lives. Thank you for the compliment of my 'keeping true to the time frame, that meant a lot! Love and hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

I have the feeling this story is about to reach its end. Of course, Margot's not going to have an easy time "exchanging bodies" with Meg ... and give up her Miles. You have done a smashing job with this book, Sandra. You seem to grow with each new venture. I didn't find any SPAG. I did note your explanation of "Yongs" was entered twice. You might want to remove one of them. But that's hardly worth the mention. Stay well and writing such stupendous prose!

Jay

Yes, the ending is getting closer. There is a lot of coming in the closing chapters, though. Such fun to write those parts. Thank you, Jay, for this lovely review, and the golden star! And for letting me know I'd put that part about 'yonks' in twice! I've removed one now. Big hugs, dear friend. :)) Sandra xxx

reply by the author on 02-Aug-2022
I'm much better now, thank you, Jay. I find if I try to do what I used to do, I'm soon tired, but I can cope with that. And I've managed to find my way around not bending and hurting my ribs!! Thanks so much for thinking of me, my dear friend. How are you feeling now? xxx

Lol!! Sometimes it's hard to get them all in. Especially for the tiny one liner poems! Thank you so much for the lovely review and the golden star, dear friend, I really appreciate them both, and you!! Love and hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Things are coming to a head. Is the reason dad didn't want Miles to marry, because Meg is his half sister? Just a thought that came to me. You did a great job and I'm ready to read more. Shirley

You and a couple of others have come up with the idea that Meg could be Miles' half sister, but no, she's not! Lol. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing, dear friend, and for giving it a sixth star! I'm so glad you are enjoying my story. I'm waiting for your next one. Warm hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xx
