Hopefully each of us know who God and Jesus are ... they are everywhere we are. They know every minute of the day what we are doing and thinking. They have power over all things.

Thank you for taking the time to review, Rosemary. One hopes everyone knows, but are each on separate journeys and at different spots in their understanding. As His thoughts are above ours, I'm not sure any of us really know.

Wow that was awesome. I didn't know this poem contest existed. And I believe this is a winner because you nailed who God said He was. Best wishes in the contest.

Thank you so very much for your review and comments, Amahra!
The contest was announced, then ended the same day, or the morning after. I just happened to catch it at the right time.

This is a very beautifully written poem you have penned for the writing prompt - A poem about God. You used great descriptive and heartfelt words with lovely imagery from the art work you chose. He is my all and my everything! Best wishes in the contest. Teri

Excellent image, font, and background color set the tone for this poem. You've addressed some of the many ways we look at God... I can relate.
I've often wondered at various times of struggle if He was the "Gentle Father" I'd previously thought. (I always concluded He was!)
Ah, God is so difficult to wrap in earthy terms! This is why there is faith, and grace...and poetry like yours.

Awww, Karenina, you are so kind! Yes, I agree with you, it is so very difficult, perhaps even impossible to wrap God in our terms. I love your answer!!
Take care, my friend!

One of the great unanswered questions of our time. As we look around the world we see God present in many different religions. I'm pretty sure that none of them have the right answer.

You know, Paul, I'm pretty sure you're right. How could we really know? But it's always good to think about it.
Take care

A very beautiful poem written well. I enjoyed reading it very much. Very nicely done. The illustration that you used for your poem was a very nice touch and made it really stand out. The same here, we serve the Lord. Thank you very sharing.

A most thoughtful and thought-provoking poem, and a great entry in this contest. I thought it was very clever, the way you contrasted the worldly misunderstanding of who Jesus is with the biblical truth of who God says He is. It was a great way to show truth and falsehood side by side. I enjoyed this sound and solid poem very much. Thanks.

As unfortunate as it may seem, wars of flesh and blood continue for sure, but so does the war for our souls, just as it did in heaven, when 1/3rd of the host voted with Satan and against The Word. As for the other 2/3rds, we were given bodies, knowing quite well we would be tested to see if accepting is word was what they truly wanted, and thus your ending is quite real. Which or what will man choose.

Lovely! You present several alternative beliefs about Him, present a challenge, do not force anyone ... but offer a different and positive view of Him to provoke thought in the reader. Well done. Best wishes for your entry.
