Your meatloaf failure sounded awful, but not your story. Your Aunt Sally saved the day! An entertaining story.
One of my failures was following a recipe for a French bundt pan. I bought a pan that was open at both ends and poured cake mix. You can imagine what happened when the cake rose.
Thank you for the smile!
Best wishes,
Mary

Your culinary failure sounds as bad as mine! Thanks for reading and sharing.

I loved the way you described your cooking mishap. I also experimented on soy veggie meat as my main ingredient in cooking main meals for my family. But my kids are picky eaters, and they still prefer the real meat than the artificial ones. You have the natural flair for storytelling. Keep sharing.

Well it sounded as bad as you said it smelled, Jessi, no offence.
However, you did a great job with the contest requirements. That
would've been a non-keeper though you tried. That's the great
thing about doing a trial run with a new recipe.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest, Jan

What a good person your aunt is Jessi, and what a good idea to eat out, but I wouldn't give up on the meatloaf idea, just try again, and if you fail...give up, thanks for sharing my friend, blessings Roy

"The thing that came out of the oven" pretty much sums this whole story up, lol!
Very funny tale:-)
Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh my gosh! Holiday cooking disaster stories are the best! If I were hosting the party, I would have heartily approved of you bringing soda! I did not see any grammatical errors. It made me remember the time my husband tried to make Swedish meatballs for a Christmas party, and no one ate them!

A charming if sickening story. LOL. Maybe someone who reads this can tell you what went wrong with your recipe. Good old Aunt Sara who saved the day. Vegetarians don't eat meat, but does poultry such as turkey or chicken count? Glad to see you back on line.

Well, I am not a vegetarian anymore, so I don?t need to fix the recipe. Thanks for reading and for the kind words

Lol! I'm glad you still tried to make a practice "meatless meatloaf" first. That made it clear that you didn't want to do that. I don't think that "tofurky" is that good either. But these days, there are so many good tasting meatless options. You could try it again now...or not.

Now that I am no longer a vegetarian, I stick with meat instead of soy. LOL. Thank you for reading and responding!

Sounds good! I flip flop with the meat. But I prefer veggies anytime. But meat is a fast source of protein!

Thank you for sharing this cooking mistake as a contest entry. I did enjoy reading. I'm a pretty good cook, but that being said, have had numerous mishaps. LOL We all do. Good luck with the contest.

Being from the UK I have no idea what an 'egg beater' is. In my head, it is the person who beats the egg! I expect it is an egg substitute.
I didn't know what a clove of garlic was when making my first meal for my new girlfriend (a loooong time ago). I used the whole bulb which nearly blew the poor girls head off. x

I thought egg beaters were an egg substitute but it turns out they are just egg whites. Thanks for reading!
