You presented an extremely amusing twist on the dangers of writing in free verse, that what we had come to value must be TOTALLY rejected. As you point out, this may led to suboptimal expression patterns. Surely there should be some tolerence? kay

Free verse can occasionally tolerate some rhyming, but the rules for this contest said NO rhyming. Naturally, I tried to get around it.

LOL, You get the last six. Your work here is not only creative on a couple of levels, but it is also very fun! I think you have blended outstanding poetry writing abilities with satire and presentation. Exceptional. Terry.

Hahaha. This was genius. Sounds about like stuff I put on here myself. Lol. "He'll hunt you down near and not near." That was hilarious. The whole piece was great. Thanks for the chuckles. Best of luck in the booth. I'll be keeping an eye out for it.

I like your non-rhyming poem. It gave me several good chuckles. I especially like the way you struck out the rhyming and stuck in something else. Very creative. Good luck in the contest.

It is a pity that the typical bad guy has been depicted with this image here? Not sure everyone would agree, as there are bad guys in all cultures. I think this could be considered as a racist post and might be offensive to some people. Regards Dolly x

Oh, no. I certainly didn't mean to offend anyone! I have no idea who this cartoon character is or what his nationality or race might be. I just liked the heavy-lidded eyes and evil smile.

Laugh out loud funny. Your "strike-throughs" are infectiously adorable...I think I'd have the same problem if told I couldn't toss in a rhyme as my muse whispered!

Suddenly every line I type is begging to be rhymed!

(Isn't that always the way?)

Fun and fine and smile-inducing!

I wonder if the judges will appreciate you sense of humour, I know I certainly do. Heh heh. But great rhyming anyway, (even though it's unofficial) I have a set against those that are biased against it. This is witty and beautifully written my friend, good luck, blessings Roy

Thanks, Roy. This may get disqualified, but I don't care. It's always fun for me to poke a little fun at free verse.

I agree, rhyming verse takes skill, not everyone can do it well.

Definitely a clever twist and done very well. Using the strikethrough was another good idea for what your message was. I thought this was very good and good luck in the contest!!

Thanks, Brandon. I'm just glad they had a strikethrough in the advanced editor! Otherwise, I would be disqualified (probably will anyway!)

You should be fine, they like to see "witty" and original takes on the prompt as long as it still follows the general guidelines...which is why I liked how you did this one! You'll do great whether you win or not...just keep posting!!

This is so creatively done I would be a foolish person not to give you a six. The text is a great size. The jest is gotten immediately with the first verse of strikethrough words. The overall creative concept for this poem is stellar. The visual fits well. The presentation is well-done. Good luck in the contest.
