A tone of irony and fun dominates this poem. The speaker laughs at herself, even worrying about how she looks at her own funeral. It is good to laugh at yourself sometimes!

,Hi Sarah, I just want to let you know that I really appreciate your awesome review and your lovely comments about my funeral poem. Writing this gave me a little bit of an eerie feeling because it was starting to feel too real. However, I do have a book that I am in the process of filling out, that tells my family what my wishes are. Lol, ActuallyI would rather not think about it at all, you know ?
It does help that I am pretty confident where my journey will lead me.
    Thanks again, my dear friend!

Well kudos to you, author, for taking an entirely different twist on this "Tribute" contest! I bit of humor never hurt anybody and this was not only a fine write, with nice rhyme and meter, but also a chuckle ~~ for many wives will read and nod along. Uh-huh... Listen up spouses, we're going to be watching!

I loved this! I want them dancing down the aisle and I will write my own eulogy. I'd tell it better! Lol. You've done a great job with this contest entry, taking it from a different POV. It's fresh, funny, and very enjoyable. Well done and good luck in the contest! :)) Sandra xx

Boy, do I ever understand this message. I recently spoke to a person requesting he read a letter for all to hear as my personal eulogy, without having him even see it until the moment of delivery.

Thanks so much Rjuselius, and as always for your kind review and comments. This one was a little eerie writing, as it seemed to feel more real with every line, but it was also something I have to face if I am ever going to get them to send that nightlght down. lol?.

Go You! I'm not that brave yet.
Still I smiled... a lot. Sorry!
It seems you are still a control freak, extremely vulnerable and
a little jealous but I thoroughly enjoyed your approach.
Good luck in the contest.
Blessings
Shirley

This is terrific. I don't even like to think about death, but you have used great rhyming and humor to plan for the "future". I had to smile at this one, it's a well written contest entry. Best of luck to you.

This was a funny tribute to self. I like the irony of having "Stayin' Alive" at a funeral. I like the whimsy of asking for a night light at burial, and a hand to hold. I like the idea of being picky about making sure the hair and dress and picture are to taste. I think you achieved your goal with this poem.

Hi Mystery Author,
This is cute, pretty funny (as I know it was intended). It's a great entry for the Tributes contest, a tribute to yourself. That should be very easy. Who knows you better than you, eh? LOL.
So many funny lines, like these...
"My hubby won't know who to call.
He'll pick a dress too tight."
and,
"Pick music from the great Bee Gees
How 'bout "Stayin' Alive" "
and,
"Use picture from ten years ago"
and,
"If dad finds someone else too soon
To take places and flaunt
Tell him that I'll sing him a tune
When I come down to haunt"
and,
"My last request is that I'll be
At rest with a night light"

Hey, I might ask for one of those myself when the time comes! A night light! ... with extra batteries! LOL.
Nicely penned! Good Luck in the contest!
Hugs,
Kimbob

Hahaha.... your poem is both, funny and terrifying. Being buried alive is one of my fears. That's why I will be cremated and spread at sea...be part of all life on earth.

Excellent entry for the Tributes contest.
