Very nice!! I like the aspects of light starting with creation, and also with birth. God is light and wants us to walk in the Light as expressed in His Son. Yes, free will is both a blessing when we choose to love Him, but a curse if we choose not to once we have seen His light. Very thoughtful - and thought-provoking.

Free will ... agency, call it what you may. Is it a blessing or bane? Are the mistake a way to learn even if we make them intentionally? Being forgiven takes contrition, and that lil sister is not in minds of everyone.

God created us to love Him by an act of our own will, He doesn't rejoice in beings that have only ever known Hod goodness, He rejoices only in those that choose to love Him, when finding His goodness, and turn away from loving sin, my love for my wife and children weren't enough until He showed me eternal joy and forgiveness, beautifully written Jim, well done, meaningful post, in your own natural style, blessings Roy

Excellent chapter for the book Seasons of Change. I'm not an expert in Bible studies but I Remer reading genesis.
I like to think that when I'm in the darkness I will look for the light.

Beautifully said! And light from a physics standpoint is still a mystery to mankind. Light was created before the sun and the stars. And Jesus says He is the Light of the World. Loved your meditation on the first day of creation!

Your book is certainly covering a wide range of subjects for your seasons. This is a particularly satisfying one as you begin at the start of the bible (a part often neglected these days). Where will it lead you, I wonder. kay

The use of the Biblical quotations act as a very useful 'backbone' to the poem and add to the themes . It reminds the reader of the importance of the symbolism of light associated with Christ.
