Yes, it was the desire to be like God, and to have the right to make one's own decisions which was the original sin. Man cannot live forever, without God, the source of life. Death resulted, and all the other consequences. A fine write. Thanks for sharing.

I like the seasons of my life, they led me to Christ, and God knew they would, He quite definitely measures one's steps, I love this poem, you are proving to be wise in your ways and knowledge, but also a very gifted wordsmith, well done, blessings Roy

I like your thoughts on forbidden fruits. Though it started with the devil tempting Eve, it seems to have been getting worse and worse with forbidden fruit more popular year vy ear.

What a great reflection! Yes, we will never know what would have happened if Eve didn't partake of that fruit but we know that God had it all in His plan to redeem us after the Fall. I liked how you took us from the reflection on the trees in Eden and ended with leaning into a fruit tree.

Actually, agency began in pre-mortality. Two choices were given all the souls there. Choose Lucifer's plan, which if selected, he expected in return, all to worship him, or Jesus's plan to honor the Father, which allowed us to make choices, right or wrong, and thereafter be endowed with blessings or consequences. Seek forgiveness, and understand if we fall short Christ will make up the difference.

it long ago - as billy joel sang, we didn't start the fire lol
this was a wonderfully thought-provoking poem that many should read and ponder on with smooth rhyme and flow
one suggestion i have is maybe try a purple background and a red or white font to blend in with the cool picture? just a thought ;)
thank you for sharing
shelley :)

Lovely reflections on our gift of free will in choosing how we will live our life. Like when you lean upon that tree, we too can receive the answers that we seek. We just need to still our own chatter and listen.

Beautifully penned and illustrated poem for today, Jim. The tree was the only one in the garden that was forbidden to eat from. Satan knew that and lured them away from God's command. First they doubted God, then they ate, and fell. Thankfully, we have Jesus Christ and the cure for all falleness is in Him. I sense this truth in the last stanza:
So, I ponder this as I sit still.
Praying in the presence of God, until
I came to a place of utter knowing,
As I lean into a fruit tree growing.
Bless the Lord!
