Oh God Sandra. How awful for you. I have it too, so I know exactly what you'te going through. I have another thrilling (haha!) symptom. As well as the fatigue I can't sleep. It's hilarious! I'll be thinking of you and hoping you get over it soon. kay

It is nasty, Kay. I really feel for you, being fatigued but unable to sleep, must be awful! It's like one fighting the other! Can you try some mild sleeping tablets? Another reason might be that you were subconsciously alert for your father, in case he called. Perhaps soon you'll get back into a more normal routine. Covid is leaving so many people with different problems now. We'll get through it, my friend, even though it might take some time, we will get there. Thanks for your lovely comments, my friend. Love and hugs Sandra xx

Thanks for sharing this with us. Long Covid seems to have affected a lot of people. I have a sister-in-law who has had a lot of muscular problems since she had Covid. I am one of the fortunate ones who has not had it.

You are very fortunate, Anne, and I sincerely hope you stay that way. It's not like any illness I've ever had before. It never ends, it leaves so many other things to cope with. Long Covid isn't infectious, so that is one good thing, I can still go out and about. Thank you, my friend. Sandra xx

You are welcome, Sandra. I am thankful I never had Covid, am still being careful, wearing a mask when out and about.

I read that Covid will be us for a long long time. Sorry to hear that you can't shake it completely. To describe the change of smell as your insides rotting IS disgusting. I hope your doctor got the point. Glad you sought out a new optician.
my whinging--did you mean to say 'whining'?

Thank you, Spitfire. About the smell, my doctor explained the it was the different infections that hit me all at once, also giving me sepsis, had messed up my senses in my brain, it couldn't cope, but it will gradually sort it all out. (That is my interpretation of his explanation.)
Whinging in UK means complaining, moaning, etc. Where as whining is an engine sound, or an animals when hurt or hungry or afraid. I don't think whinging is a word in America. It's strange that both countries speak the English language but we have many differences and meanings.
    Thank you, again. Sandra xx

    Thanks for the explanation, Sandra.
My mother went into the hospital for surgery, then fell when recovering, sepsis set in and she passed away. On the bright side she was 86 and ready to go to heaven. Glad this didn't happen to you.

I'm sorry for your loss, my mother was the same age when she died and was ready to go and be with my dad.

I didn't know how close I was to death until I'd been in hospital a while. I'd never even heard of sepsis until then. I'm glad I didn't die, too. Lol. I am still having to cope with this awful Long Covid, though. It's true about the smell, I don't recommend anyone having it! :)) Thanks My friend.xx

I'm so sorry for your results. We've had many kinds of symptoms of tiredness, too, but I thought, not enough sleep. If you eat good and get enough rest perhaps that will help. I am no doctor but I know it helps.

I've put myself on a really healthy diet, and Graham and I go for a short walk each day, gradually building up the distance. I will take time, but I'm determined to beat it. Thank you, my friend. Love and hugs, Sandra xx

Yikes... I'm going back to masking up! Long Covid sounds awful. I'm so sorry you have to go through all that.

Thanks for sharing, it'll definitely makes me think twice before heading out in public!

When doctors really have no clue, Covid is the escape goat. There is a passage in the Bible. "Physican heal thyself." The body normally will heal it's self if given time. Looking forward for a good report from you. Blessings to you, Sandy.

Thank you, Chuck. I will get better, but if I don't, well that will mean I start the next chapter. None of us know what will happen in the next hour, never mind tomorrow. I hope my next report tells you I'm leaping around like a six year old! Lol. Thank you, Chuck. Love and hugs, Sandy.xx

I'm so sorry about your Long Covid. That is stuff to deal with. I do have a question for my own knowledge. Where you vaccinated? I want to do some research about Long Covid and those who were vaccinated. Have a blessed day. Shirley

Hi Shirley, yes, I had all three vaccines, and the booster, and having the booster next month. I do wonder if I hadn't had the vaccinations would I have been another one of the millions who died from it. It's one of those questions I'll never be able to answer. Let me know what you come up with. It should be interesting. :)) xxx
reply by Shirley McLain on 30-Apr-2023
When I had covid I know in my heart that I would've died, if I'd not been vaccinated. You just never know in this day and time what you might have to deal with.
reply by the author on 30-Apr-2023
That is exactly right, Shirley. I think people who don't have it done are fools. I've heard them say they believe all this came about so they can inject miniature chips into you! Madness!! I'm glad you have had them, and I'm glad I did. :) xx

Hello Sandra, you are not whining. I'm sorry to hear that you have Long Covid. The shortness of breath must be scary.

Of special note:
At least that has stopped me thinking I have a brain tumour. I know, I'm an idiot. Lol.

(You are not an idiot, and whenever a person summers from headaches, the reason why must be investigated.)

Take it slow. Your FS family will be here when you return. FS is a place where the light is always on. Be well ~ stay safe. Margaret ~ LB

The shortness of breath is the scariest part of all. One night I could not breath at all, it was as if I had a plastic bag pulled tight over my face. It was awful. Graham tried to help, but it only lasted seconds, and that felt like hours. The rest I can cope with, but will be glad when I'm finally over it. I agree with you about headaches. If it's no better after I get my new glasses, I'll go and see the doctor.

Thank you, Margaret, you've been really kind. Warm hugs, Sandra xx

Long Covid is a bummer. I've been checked several times for it and am always negative. I lost my sense of smell mostly, although sometimes dinner smells like a sewer. If you learn of a cure for tinnitus, I sure want to hear it. Lots of ads but end up being quacks, I suspect. I hope your "long" ends up shorting out very soon.

I'm hoping my 'long' ends soon, too, Carol! lol. I'm beginning to help myself by resting more, and taking some exercises in the way of short walks. I'll get there now I know what it is I'm dealing with. Thank you, my friend. :)) Sandra
