It sounds like you have had some unfortunate encounters with the sea here that have taught you to be cautious over time, I enjoyed your entertaining read and wish you luck with the contest, love Dolly x

You definitely can claim the getting hit by a run away sail boat as your niche. This was told in a humorous but methodical style. Hopefully you have had better experiences since then. Great storytelling. Good luck in the contest. Gretchen

This is well written and very entertaining. You do seem to have a bad luck gremlin hanging around you when you get near the water. Best of luck in the contest.

We live within a short driving distance from the sea. My wife lived near a surfing beach in New South Wales, before we met, and Australia is very much a sea going place, most of our population lives near the sea. Beautifully written, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Kids can be a little mocking, but you must be a nice mum. Beautifully written, good luck, blessings Roy

Dear poet, a very well constructed story on some
humorous incidents in your
life, except getting slammed
by a sailboat and from losing
your camera. My family and
I lived in Gulfport, Mississippi
for three years until my late
husband got his military
orders to transfer to Raleigh,
NC. With the exception of
Hurricane Elena, it was a
pretty area. After he passed
away three years ago, I wanted to move to northern
Mississippi, but the rest of
my family wasn't on board
with that, so we're still
living in NC where his family
is from. You write very well.
Happy Weekend. ~

Thank you Regina, It is interesting that you lived in Gulfport. I had a sister-in -law who lived there. I like North Carolina. I've spent a lot of time there with a friend who lived in Waynesville and Maggie Valley. I appreciate your review and comments.

Haha but that last one sounded dangerous, Mystery
Author. I enjoyed your fun story, You expressed your
thoughts clearly with all of the examples. The quote
at the end from your child was hilarious now that I
know you were ok. You gave readers great details.
I could easily imagine being there with you.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest, Jan

This comical tragic short story has me laughing. Not at you but st all the events you've written about here.

I'll say you're lucky not to have gotten really hurt by the run away boat.

Best of luck in the contest.
John

What a nice story you wrote memories of your children and husband we get into accidents here and there. Humorous but not so humorous for you. I'm sure I was interested all the way feeling. Nice away of writing a nice style that's all your own. I can appreciate water and children mine were water babies. So having said all that I find your store quite well written By a talented hand I find no issues with grammar and it's aesthetically pleasing. This is an excellent entry in the By the Sea contest. Your story is filled with drama and sprinkled with fun moments of humor in keeping with your lifelong desire to see the sea and your affinity to not be a a risk taker despite the reoccurring mishaps. Well done.

All the best in the contest,

Eugene

Thank you for sharing you story of mishaps. You seem to have a great sense of humor about these strange things that have happened. Being left by your husband driving away, what was he thinking? I can't imagine being run over by a boat and I imagine the couple on the boat felt bad about not being able to control it.
Here's sending you good vibes so you have a great day.
Good luck in the contest.
