another in a series of poetic tributes to great writers. I have read a lot of his work, loved the Portrait of Dorian Grey and the Importance of Being Earnest.

"Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much."
Oh how I love this line...
I know that "killing someone with kindness" is always a good thing....
You wrote such a wonderful poem and oh my goodness, the information is fantastic.
Loves it!!!

Thank you so much, Lisa! I really appreciate your kind review and thoughts. He's great isn't he? So many quotes and each one a gem. But I quite like "Life's too short to speak German." That one really amuses:) Debbie x

An interesting individual, picked for this conveyance, finding a uniqueness about this person. Although, I never read any of his works. The person seemed to be very combative of society's standards. A changer of beliefs.

This was a good read Debbie both in poem and in your notes. Some of his quotes are very humouous. I especially like the final one you show in notes about forgiving ones enemies, always makes me smile. Great presentation.
Cheers

This is another impressive one, and I was surprised that you are only up to fifty posts - but I must say that the quality of each post is wonderful. Better to write fifty good ones than lots of poorer ones. My prediction? You'll be among the top poets on this site before long and deservedly so. Excellent poem and very comprehensive and informative notes. Well done, Debbie. I enjoy your work a lot. Wendy

An excellent verse about Oscar Wilde's life chronologically written.

Thank you for the author notes, they helped a lot.

I didn't know much about him, so to learn through poetry was fun.

I love the organization of the stanzas and the rhyming pattern, both allowed me to move from line to line freely, easily.

I'm enjoy your writing style.

What a nice surprise. I did not expect to be entertained, and educated whilst reading a poem. Your rhyme and rhythm was perfect as well as fun. I felt the subject's emotions, making it an incredible read.

What a lovely ode to Wilde's genius. This tells the story of his life in flowing verse--I think he would want nothing better. It is incomprehensible to me that still today so many cannot accept homosexuality.

Thank you so much, Ben, for your kind review and thoughts. I love this man, an absolute genius and so disgracefully sentenced. I understand that it was a bit of a stitch-up to keep him quiet about a potential political scandal. Take care Debbie
