It is hard for alcoholics to admit they have a problem and once they do it is the start of recovery. I remember chatting to a man fitting a security door over my front door and he told me about his life, mainly because I asked. He said his first wife was an alcoholic and she refused to get any help. He loved her so much but his life was a living hell because she was drunk all the time. He left her and they divorced and he remarried and he had a happy life and his ex-wife never changed and still remained a drunk. Sometimes people cannot be helped and we have to move on. I hope in this case that this guy sees the light, we will see. I enjoyed the first part of your story Gretchen, good luck with it, love Dolly x

Thank you, Dolly. I have a friend who is an alcoholic yet she continues to deny it. She binge drinks. Doesn't think that counts. Sad really. Gretchen

It'll only work if you do it for yourself. WOW!! I enjoyed reading this contest entry. You have so many stories going, I'm impressed. Please continue to keep this one going too. Good luck with the contest.
