I enjoyed reading this poem. My mom lives on a farm. She has two indoor dogs, a German Shepherd, Charlie, and a Yorkie, Snickers. She also has off and on a mouse issue. I don't understand with two indoor dogs. I have offered her one of my cats, but she hasn't taken me up on it. I don't have a mouse problem. Your poem was fun to read.

    Hi barbara.wilkey,
I'm glad you enjoyed reading this poem. Thank you for sharing about your mom on her farm. I have to admit, my cats have the mouse problem in hand. I haven't seen a mouse in quite awhile.
    Have a great day!

I like this. Yes, our cats seem to sleep all day but become very active in the night. They can make you think there are monsters roaming the halls. LOL Well done, Debi

This is a fun write, I loved the repeated end rhymes, very clever and your sentiment of horror for Halloween is riddled within each line, a joy to read, love Dolly x

Cockroaches ! I battle to exterminate them with all kinds of traps. But in another house i have faced rodent problems in spite of having cats! They decided that the food the humans eat was better than the rodents!
I enjoyed reading this .Very well written...

    Hi Sanku,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on cockroaches. You're one of a few who accepted that challenge. They are pesky insects. Sounds like your cats were spoiled, but I know what you mean. I had one cat that would let a mouse go if it thought it could get cat food instead. Thankfully, the cats I have now like to hunt. I haven't seen a mouse in ages. Hurray!
Thanks for a fun review and encouragement.

This was very well done, debi. I loved how every line (excepting the tick-tock lines) rhymed with "ores." That's hard to do.

Thank goodness for the cats who help keep our homes mouse-free. We've had some good mousers over the years who have done their job well. This was a fun poem and beautifully presented too with that wonderful close-up picture and the yellow font on black background.

    Hi Jim,
Thanks for catching the rhyme scheme. You're the only one that mentioned it. I appreciate the comments about your great mousers as well as the encouragement for the writing.

The mouse is a cute little thing when you are up and about during the day, but when you are sleeping, and you hear those little noises in the wall, it is a different story.

    Hi Paul McFarland,
I don't like mice during the day and certainly not at all at night. Thanks for dropping by to read and review.

This poem, Mousy Wars, is a terrific venture into the scary dark world of those vicious vermin that scurry about in the darkness, feeding on our peace of mind. Nice to feed the cat a few screaming meemees.

This is a very good poem with lots of fun over your mouse wars. Fortunately, you have a cat to handle some of the problem. I like the rhythm and rhyming of this poem as it makes it so easy to read.

    Hi Carol Hillebrenner,
I'm glad you enjoyed this poem. Yes, I love that the two kittens I found two years ago have turned into skilled mousers. I haven't seen a mouse in quite some time.
    Have a wonderful week.

Enjoyed your well crafted poem full of onomatopoeia and engaging the imagination and raising the hairs of the reader. I think with cats there are very few problems with mice. I heard that peppermint oil helps. Hope with your cats, you don't have any mice nearby!

A very clever and witty poem well written with humour and flair. Love the bit about the gruesome nightly chores of the cat! Thanks for sharing this fun one.
