Well written.
he rolled himself a cigarette, lit it, and used the same match to lite his smoke. - I don't get it. Here in the States, we call a cigarette a smoke. What did he light after the cigarette?
strangulating - strange, some of the differences between our languages. In the States we would say 'strangle'.
Best wishes.

Very clever using the victim's blood in the ink for his journaling. I love the detail you put into Stanley's obsessive behaviour with his different books, different drawers, and then for the new owner of said bureau only interested in the aesthetics. Well thought out and written. Good luck in the contest.

You have done an excellent job with the writing prompt you were given. Your story is creative and an intriguing read. I wish you all the luck in the world in the contest.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story, partly because of the mystery and plot, and partly because it is clearly written. Your use of your Objects of Desire were creative and believable. Well done. Best wishes in the contest.

You did a whole lot better than I with your prompts and I hope you win! As soon as I read "Whitechapel", I knew what we were in for. I noticed a couple of very minor typos, not significant enough to mention, especially with the high degree of your writing. I hope to red more of your work.
