Those were my questions. We will all suffer grief several times in our lifetimes. I've been there four times now, and it never gets easier. You wrote this so well, it is just the way we feel, why him/her? Why not the ones that destroy our world and kill our innocents. Well done, and good luck in the contest. Sandra xx

    Dear Sandra,

This free verse, Grief, informs the readers of the distance in living experience and closeness of spirit you had with your mom. The emptiness when a good person passes is so much worse when you are both part of one heart and soul. My only answer to this loss is that all she could do here was done, and what she will do now is through you. I wonder what you have done in these eight years that you could attribute to her.

Grief has no timeline and others do not feel the pain of your loss. This is written from the deepest part of you and your words are beautiful. May memories color your days with her love for you.

So sorry for your loss Romona. What a blessing that you and your mother had such a wonderful bond.
I hope writing this poem was cathartic for you and the wonderful memories of your mother will crowd out the sadness.

Blessings
Janet

A very touching poem, Ramona. Your mother would want you to shed your grief as soon as possible. You will be with her later on. She may be trying to contact you now with that message.

This is such a very sad and poignant poem. You ask a very good question. Why is life so unfair. Dry well written and presented.
I wish you lots of luck in the competition. Jen.

I read this the other day, and it came to mind after reading this gorgeous poem of yours: If you can't understand why it takes some people so long to get over a loss, you should consider yourself lucky.

The holidays can be so very difficult. But with this beautiful poem/tribute, Ramona, you have turned your lemons into lemonade. That's no small feat. I'm sending you nothing but love today.

I could relate very much yo your message. I too have lost a few close family members. A couple of them were much younger than the normal range of a life ending. And I think of them all the time. Your expressive words really lets us as readers feel and share your grief. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us.
