People can spoil things by overthinking or by being too sentimental about a thing. I believe that the right thing to do is to enjoy the gift in honor of the deceased father in law.

This is a very interesting and well written haunted holiday story. It sounds unbelievable, except that there were witnesses. It's obvious, the bottle of whiskey was meant just for you, a person who would truly enjoy it.

I think I would be wanting to hand the bottle back as well after finding that out. I've never really been keen on the idea of trying whiskey, perhaps I will one day. I really enjoyed reading this piece. Good luck in the contest.

    Sometimes going with true stories verses the fantastical fiction ones doesn?t play well with the audience, but this one seems to be holding its own. Appreciate your review. This did have a spooky edge.

    Yes. It was an eerie occurrence. I always like to go with true stories on these Ghost contests, or at least stories I have heard to be true. We shall see if that works out.

I think Rick would appreciate someone who enjoyed Jack Daniels, winning the bottle. This is a fun story and sounds like a fun holiday party. Excellent writing that draws the reader in and holds her there. Happy New Year and best for the contest.

I must admit that if you have feelings for the person who has passed, the feeling is lasting. I have gone through this type of experience and love goes a long way. Remember your loved one kindly.

A most believable and enjoyable story; I found myself giggling. I liked the way you included Rick as not just a memory but a special person. I don't have any suggestions about the tale; there are no glaring punctuation problems. However, as a Scot, I prefer Johnny Walker on the rare occasions I drink anything other than wine. Looking forward to reading more of your work.

Cool story. These things happen all the time. Odd things tend to happen around me. Always have. I was told by a psychic that I am "lit up". So, I draw things too me. I have always smelled people around me. Perfumes, colognes, aftershave. things they cooked.
It was odd at first. I got used to it. Good writing. Karen
