Good morning dear Debbie and Merry Christmas...
What a perfect choice for Christmas...Good old Bing...brings back such delightful memories... Bob and I walk around the kitchen singing and much of that are the Christmas songs sung by Bing.

Debbie. A special treat for us this Christmas season with the poem of Bing Crosby. I will always remember watching White Christmas every year growing up Danny Kaye.

So many songs and movies mentioned brought back memories of me and my parents. Thank you for posting this.

Oh yes, Bing Crosby was the greatest of the great, both he and Frank Sinatra dominated the musical hustings for many, many years, even lady the Dawn of greats such as Buddy Holly and Elvis. How brilliant! Of course, Bing is the perfect choice for this December post! Who of us has not sung or hummed "White Christmas" for every holiday, snow in the forecast or not? This gentleman stole my mother's heart...and her mother's... and mine! I watch "The Bells of Saint Mary's" every Christmas and blubber like a fool!

Merry Christmas, Debbie! You've given us the best Christmas gift of all, with this superior, wonderfully composed and rhymed verse, honoring a true legend!

I suppose everyone has their dark side, but here you celebrate what Bing Crosby brought to American culture through his skill as a singer, entertainer, and actor. For my generation, who grew up influenced by people like my mother and my aunt, it's hard to think of a Christmas without classics like White Christmas, Holiday Inn, The Bishop's Wife, Boys Town, and of course, his all time Christmas favorite song, White Christmas. Those On the Road films with the equally great Bob Hope were terrific too, and we mustn't forget how those two entertained so many of our troops through World War II. estory

Yes, there was a lot of controversy surrounding his personal life which is a shame because he was obviously such a cause for good, especially during the war.
