I loved the sentiments here as these two still feel tenderness for each other. I am not sure the last line works as it does not make sense to me and I read it several times, love Dolly x

Dolly, I am delighted you enjoyed seeing this couple. The Speaker only heard a few words of what the older man said. The last line repeats those words, as he tells her how wonderful it is to have spent one more year together as a couple. I think that day is their anniversary.
