BRAVO! You did a wonderful job of telling your experience here. I love this site, even though I've been MIA for sometime now I still payed my dues because I don't want to lose contact with the people here. I cherish you and the others that I've grown to care about. It's fun to learn about them through their writing

Well said, Ulla! I completely agree here. I've sometimes spent a good deal of time listing edits and then, because the response was so brief and perfunctory, felt obliged to inquire whether that was ok with the author. I felt as if I'd offended them or something and suggested that, perhaps, I not bother next time. To which the author countered briefly by saying that I should continue. Much easier and quicker, of course, to overlook these things although it seems to me to go against the whole principle of reviewing. Well done for raising this, Ulla! Take care Debbie

Wonderful information for this book! Thank you, Ulla! And you are fearless considering you speak so many languages and are not afraid to write in a language which isn't your native tongue, that is fabulous! And I know there are a number of people on this site for whom English isn't their first language so I know they would be encouraged by your post!

I think it's great advice for the novices of the site. There is also that unspoken etiquette on here as well. You never give less than a five star review, for example, unless you want to risk being boycotted. I guess I have to remember sometimes that English isn't your first language. You have gotten pretty good at it here. estory

Yes, even us older folks like me can learn from these advice chapter books. Soon after I came to this site, barely knowing a noun from a verb, Gayle (Showboat- who owned G&J Publishing and did most the books for Fanstorians) asked my to add a chapter to her writing book. I was new to writing myself and couldn't believe she asked, but I tried it, writing Reasons to do the Write thing. LOL. Thanks for sharing your advice.
