This was a marvelous start to a longer work, Karen. Interesting and funny and mysterious. I loved your cogent descriptions of Milton, Karen, and Walter Neff, hitting the highnotes of their personalities with excellent examples.
I especially loved this statement about Milton: He didn't need a ribbon to tell him people liked his tomatoes. That's become my philosophy with ribbons and awards here on FanStory. Personally, a few good reviews by people who I respect, showing the person really appreciates the things I like about my post and "get it," is far preferable to lots of short reviews that say very little but are just enough to fill the 150-character minimum and that earn you those ribbons and awards.
This chapter was very well done, and I hope it's the beginning of a longer work. - Jim

OOOh! You just pointed out something I did not know I thought for myself out loud! It's a truism for sure! Kind words, even good corrections, mean more to me than here; I have a six. I like sixes they are pretty and shiny. But I value kinship far more. Thanks for your kind words. And the six.

This was so funny I wish i had a six:) "n fact, she had a lot to say about repeat burials. She said, "You can fry the sucker and put the ashes in the garbage for all I care. I already paid for and buried your certified "Walter Neff" five years ago. You will pay to plant this one. I will have nothing to do with it. I called his Uncle, who said he had a cousin, Winston, the same age; here is his number. Take it and go. My hands are washed of this whole affair." Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest.

Thank you very much. I enjoyed writing it. Those sixes go fast don't they? I laughed myself when I wrote that part. Thanks again.

This was fun. Well written and engaging. I wondered what the "Let's Kill Karen" prompt was all about, and now I am starting to see.
The only thing I saw that I wondered about was the below paragraph. Having quote marks might be good for the words from the wife and the uncle. Otherwise, funny and easy to read. Well done.
