Excellent
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted

Hello Navada,
I don't have any sixes in my time zone yet, but this is a worthy contender. When I was reading this I was feeling the terror and the hopelessness. I commercial fished for 45 years, and did all I could to make sure that the water stayed on the outside of the boat. Even so, the unexpected can always happen, with tragic consequences. Well done gal.
Have a blessed day>
Tom

Thank you so much, Tom. In your line of work, this would certainly resonate. I think I'd been watching Deadliest Catch not long before writing this (it was written some time ago). I haven't seen any recent episodes for quite a while, but it's a fascinating series and was devastated when Phil Harris passed away.

    Hi Navada,
I think the Deadliest Catch is in re-run mode. I used to watch it now and then. They were out in the Bering Sea in the winter, the most brutal time to be there. Most probably because the crab weren't molting or spawning during that time. One of the boats, I can recall which, moved down to Petersburg Alaska, in the Southeast Panhandle and was taking tourists out, setting and pulling shrimp pots and showing them the abundant sea life.

Oh my gosh, is this based on a true story?
Excellent description. I could feel the salt cracking my lips and all hope slipping away, lost, alone. Terrifying.
Really effective imagery.

Thank you so much, Julie - I really appreciate your positive feedback and the generous six stars! :) This isn't based on a specific story, although I'm sure this situation has sadly unfolded in the past.
