Another case of "Wish I had the sixes!" There is so much to comment on that I want to specifically mention one small detail: the root beer stand with the big glass mugs. What a treat for a kid! There aren't many around nowadays that can remember these things, but I sure do! We also had stands where they made real, hugegantic ice cream sandwiches fresh with crispy waffles and stands where they sold potato chips out of the bag. Sorry for wasting this review, but you brought back some cherished memories!

This is a very well written chapter of your book. I agree with you that one of the hardest things we have to do in life, especially if we were in a situation, where we might have been abused, or not supported by our parents is the process of accepting ourselves for who we are. This is a very well written chapter of your book. I agree with you that one of the hardest things we have to do in life, especially if we were in a situation, where we might have been abused, or not supported by our parents is the process of accepting ourselves for who we are. You went all over the place in the story. But isn't that how it is in our heads? I imagine lying to cover stuff up was ingrained and second nature. Also, it was one of the reasons you hid in the nunnery for years until you figured you had been punished enough. You are brave. And you have always been fine, just the way you are. Karen :-)
