A very enjoyable poem that is full of information about the famous Dr. Seuss. Did not know he was from New England or sold war bonds.
Your poem is an easy read and has a good pace and flow.
Thank you!

Oh this is fun. I never knew the word "nerd" was one of Dr. Seuss's. I liked the back and forth of this poem between Seuss's professional life and his writing. Plus, to write a poem about a poet is great fun.

Hi Debi, I wish I had a 10 to give you...
this had soooo many memories for me...

I loved reading Dr. Seuss story books...they
had a great rhythm and rhyme...and made you laugh...
the last time I was in Florida my grandson had some of
his books...and I was so happy to see him reading them...

I tried to pick out some of my favorites from the picture...
but I loved them all...Cat In The Hat...was one of my favs...

I love your poem beautiful you...and soooo love the picture...
and I loved the Dr. Seuss Biography...learned something from both video's...I didn't know it was pronounced Dr.Soise at one time...so
now I'm one of the five that do know...this took a lot of work my
sweet friend...and I enjoyed reading it...love much...Linda xxoo

Dr. Suess is a wonderful children's book author. I think we all grew up reading his book. I admit "Cat In The Hat" made me too nervous. I kept expecting the parents to appear at any moment and everyone would be in trouble. I love "Ten Apples Up On Top," "Green Eggs and Ham" and "Horton Hatches An Egg." Horton so deserved to be the papa.
Thanks for the charming stroll down memory lane and the excellent tribute to a great author.

And here in NJ, we serve eggs with Taylor Ham...
Spam-- yuck. Sorry sis.

Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed your Dr Seuss poem. You highlighted Seuss himself and intermingled his work poetically in your verse.

I don't know how you and Debbie D'Arcy do these poems so perfectly. I can barely write my name!

I always look forward to seeing your name in my in box because I know there is something special waiting.

Enjoy your Monday.
John

Hahaha! John, to tell you the truth, I don't know anyone that likes Spam. No wonder they call bad phone calls the same thing. LOL. I just used it to be funny since it kinda went with the theme of green eggs and ham.

It was fascinating finding out more about Dr. Seuss reading your piece, Debi. I'm only really familiar with The Grinch and The Cat in the Hat. I think he's America's answer to Roald Dahl. An excellent piece, I enjoyed reading it.

You just hit the nail on the head as the saying goes. Many times it isn't that what is said or written is good or bad, it's all in the way things are looked at. As Shakespeare said: "Nothing is good or bad, but thinking makes it so."
Thanks for sharing. :-)

Hi Ric, LOL, one of my favorite quotes is one I will tell my husband when somehow his perception seems a little distorted on something, "Don't believe everything you think." hehe! Gosh, I love Dr Seuss quotes.

And I also love his ability to make up new words and get by with it.
So here is mine: thanks Ric for the Seussational review and very kind comments. You are awesome. Love, Debi

This is an excellent poem about one of my favorite authors, too. The little child in me loved his poetry as much as my children did. I thought the ridicule and suppression of his poetry was silly.
