This is a fine tribute to teachers everywhere. They truly do have a calling and they are so influential with children and young people these days. There is a dearth of cultural and values training in our homes these days. Teachers have picked up the slack and with many or most kids teachers are more influential in the belief system then parents are.

And, I think it is encouraging other people to become teachers. I think that's where the respondents come in.
I agree that teachers have a tough job. You get kids from the hood wiho bring guns to school. You get kids that mouth off in class and won't shut up.
Then, every once in a while, you get a kid who listens to you, does the work and succeeds in life. And makes up for all the other crap the teacher has to deal with.

Teaching is definitely a calling. I taught students with special needs for nearly 30 years. It wasn't a lucrative job but the benefits were intangible and priceless I was blessed. Thank you for sharing this.
