Hi Debi, with it being Good Friday, your poem regarding the Crucifixion of Christ is timely, albeit difficult/painful for me, personally, to read about how He was tortured. Have a blessed Easter. Xo. M

I understand that, as it is for me too. I cried watching the video each time. Yet it is the way it was and for myself personally, I feel for what He went through, I should acknowledge it.
Thanks Hon, and I appreciate your very kind review.
Lotsa love to you, sis. Debi

Hello, Debbie,
A moving Easter poetic poem of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
His story never grows old... And it is one that needs to be told today more than ever.
If I may, throughout your well-crafted poetic offering, you refer to Jesus as He. But in your second stanza, line two, you insert the name "Jesus:"
A crown of thorns on his (His) forehead
With spears they jabbed while Jesus bled
I think your poem may be more powerful if you refrained from writing the name "Jesus" until you arrive at the end of the poem... as you do.
And perhaps, the line that I indicated could read something like the following:
A crown of thorns on His forehead
With spears they jabbed; His body bled
Just some thoughts.
Much enjoyed,
diane

Hi Diane, and thank you for your very kind comments regarding my Good Friday poem.
I truly appreciated your feedback and I was happy to hear your suggestions. I have learned some valuable lessons in my couple years here and that is to always listen and it is amazing how little changes can make such a difference. I already changed the two that you pointed out and think that they do look and sound better. Thank you so very much, Diane, for taking the time and your help. Love, Debi
I appreciate it very much.

My pleasure, Debbie.
Just one little thought:
Between "jabbed" and "His" a semi-colon is needed.

OMGosh, I thought I put that in. Thank you so much for catching that.

Debi,
What a moving poem about the sacrifice of our Lord on this Good Friday so many years ago. He still has patience and love for us in spite of what we've made of ourselves. It's hard to think of what He went through and how He was so unjustly accused, sentenced and executed, and all for us.
I love the video!!!!
Much love as always,
Rhonda

What a great meditation for Good Friday! Thank you for sharing this, Debi. I always find it so hard to read about the torture and crucifixion of the Lord. Yes, it's for our sins He died but He rose again!

Thank you for sharing this Easter poem with us. We are so unworthy, but God still loves us. All we need to do is believe in the fact that Jesuse rose from the dead. Thank you for sharing the video. It brought tears.

What an outstanding poem and song to commemorate Good Friday and also the upcoming Easter Sunday. We should never forget the sacrifices the Lord made for us and know that we are blessed only because of him.
HAPPY EASTER....and many blessings.

If you read Psalm 22:1, Psalm 22:7, 8, Psalm 22:18, you will be shocked to see that these Psalms reflect everything that happened at Jesus' death. Any who doubt or deny this cannot believe that hey are Christians. Shame on those religious leaders who were supposed to know the scriptures. They had to recognize the significance of scripture being fulfilled before their very eyes, and yet they did not repent. For them there is no redemption. Thank you for your very fine work on this inspiring scriptural presentation.

Hi Nomi, I thank you so much for the lovely comments for my Good Friday poem. It's always so nice that we have so many Christian people that can relate to these kinds of poems.
I appreciate your kindness so very much. Have a very blessed Easter, my dear BBBB. Love, Debi
And I will see you on Tuesday. If there is anything that you forgot to tell me about your kids or grandkids, let me know. So far you only told me about Y'vette, Jabaree, and Josie. It would be nice if you could let me know about the others. At least how many kids and grandkids. And in a nutshell what is most important in a biographical poem to know about you. Right now I know so much that it is overwhelming so how about just what is most important so that you could show your family. Thanks so much, Hon!!

So Yvette, the eldest my child from a different father, but my child just the same; my first born Kevin, my second biological child, Jennifer, who by the way is a terrific writer who refuses to write on a regular basis. Neither Kevin nor Jennifer are married and do not appear to be interested in getting married, which denies me any biological grandchildren. Josie has three children, Willie Junior, a step child, Elijahh her first born, and Aaliyah her baby, who is the darling of the family a real sweetie. Eli's name is not misspelled, his mom decided she wanted to make the spelling of his name different. Go figure.
-
LOL,Heck, if I used names I'd make the whole poem about them. Haha, So I will just say how many and stick to details about your life. You know? What is the most important about you, jobs, I know you've been married 51 yrs, how long in service, special memories, hobbies and beliefs

I am a baptized Christian Minister of the religion known as Jehovah's Witnesses. While I know that you wish to celebrate my birthday, we as a group do not celebrate birthdays, or for that matter most holidays, including Easter. We celebrate the Passover as it is the one celebration he, Jesus, told his followers to keep doing in remembrance of Him. I make no judgement of others beliefs or practices. I only seek to be loyal and true to my own. I love you and respect the choices that you make. I have no problem in praising and celebrating your talent as a writer. I think you have shown tremendous growth as a writer since you have joined the site, and I applaud you for your accomplishments.
As for my life journey, boy do I have a story to tell. Just wait until I publish my life story. It may very well raise the hair on your cute little head. LOL.

Oh Nomi, you are wonderful for your beliefs and I will try to keep the praise down a little, but think I have enough now to write a wonderful poem for you. Thank you so much and I will see you Tuesday. God bless you and happy Easter, my dear friend. Even if you don''t celebrate it, I know what it stands for is in your heart. Between what I know now about you, your children and your service to our country I am super excited to get started. Actually I had some started from our interview but needed to touch a little more on your personal life.
And only because this is between us on this site, I will leave the part out about being the best brave big brother, BBBB. Unless you ask me to keep it in,
Thanks so much Nomi. You are the best!!

Since I'm a prose guy, I'm stingy with giving out one of our few sixes for anything but stories. But on rare occasions, when a meaningful poem comes along and touches me in a special way, I have to reward it properly. Thanks for sharing.
