This is a beautiful poem. I'd heard there is no closer relationship that the one that exists between sisters. It isn't always the case because my of my daughter doesn't have a close bond with her siblings. I'm sorry to leave our FanStory friend's sister.

It varies a lot. I think some siblings are much closer than others. I am thankful for my brother but we've lived such separate lives that we don't have that daily talk kind of closeness that Katharine had with her sister. Thanks for reviewing, Beth! Hugs!

That is so lovely, and I am sure she will appreciate both your thoughtfulness and your skill, with this thoughtful poem of comfort. The recurring line is especially meaningful.
Well done.

This is a very beautifully written poem that you have presented us with, and it really touches my heart. I had three sisters. Now there is only one of my sisters left as a matter fact where the only two siblings in the family they're still here. So it really touches my heart greatly. I am sorry for your friends loss.

Hi Helen, my apologies for the late review. Your poem reads and flows well, and the love of a sister shines through. Of special note:

Although she flew Home much too soon
You know she sings angelic tunes

(Nice imagery and sensory appeal)

Beautiful presentation. Silky rhyming. I know that poems like Yours will comfort Pome Lover during this grief-filled time. Well done. Xo. M

We never forget those we love, but hopefully for most, there are more good memories that make each coming day easier. Thanks for sharing another fine poem.

This is an excellent poem for a grieving sister. Sadly, since we moved to our apartment here in senior living, I have lost all of my siblings: youngest brother, Sam 7 years ago; younger sister, Mary, 2 years ago; older brother, John, also 2 years ago, 6 months later than Mary. Sam was my buddy from birth- I was 10 years older and claimed him as my baby. Since we were all 5 years apart, we weren't particularly close growing up, but in our adult years, we were great friends. Our ties were strengthened in sharing the loss of our parents. In the years before she died, Mary and I talked on the phone every day. Sam and I were always close. In 1995 Sam, who owned warehousing, took all of us with our mates for a 10-day vacation to Jamaica, where we lived royally.

I'm so sad to hear that your siblings all went to be with the Lord. And your closest one left so young. You can fully understand the poem. Katharine and her sister talked everyday, too. Thanks so much for sharing and reviewing, Verna!

-Lovely artwork and very nice presentation, Helen.
-You wrote a very good tribute for Pome Lover
and the loss of her sister.
-You create a vivid word picture of a "southern home...
where classic songs were sung and played."
-A very good repeating line showing a
bond of love that will continue.
-A very good closing verse.
-I'm sure your heartfelt poem will offer much comfort.
-Thanks for sharing it.

Hi Helen!

This is a lovely tribute poem. It speaks to your talent with words and your compassion for others. The Kyrielle was a beautiful choice. Thank you for sharing. And for the certificates you have used on my selections.

Thanks so much, Kim. Since the "kyrie" is an invocation to God, it's natural for a prayer-related poem.

The the rhyme throughout this poem is good eight syllables throughout. Some of the rhyming works well: care there for example. However others are not quite right: shared - there and shines - confined. Share -there works as does shine - confine. I liked the fact you had capitalised Home to distinguish it from a house, very cleaver. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for reviewing and sharing what you liked and didn't like. You'll find here that we are not so tied to perfect rhymes as we were taught in school. Near rhymes are perfectly acceptable and sometimes even helps to avoid forced rhymes.
    Blessings!
