This is another very well written story about your dog Sunny. It was a pleasure to read and I enjoyed listening to it very much. May you have a wonderful day and may God bless you with good things. Patricia .

What a great little dog you've got there, Wendy, and what a perfect name because he turns every day into a sunny day with his mere presence. I think it's wonderful that he can bring so much aid, comfort, and pleasure to so many people as a therapy dog. It takes a special dog and a special owner to make that happen, and you two seem to be a great combination.

You did a great job anthropomorphizing his speech, and I'm sure many of the thoughts you attributed to him were his actual thoughts without the words per se. This was a very fun and heartwarming posting. - Jim

Thanks so much Jim. I think he's half human, lol, and he whispers in my ear what to write! I appreciate your very special words - encouraging and thoughtful as well.

What a great name for a dog, especially a therapy dog. Therapy dogs are wonderful and do such a service. Sunny looks like such a sweetie. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you very much, Marilyn - yes, he is very sweet-natured and mostly well-behaved. Sometimes at home he teases me by being uncooperative about getting his harness on for going out - he rolls over for a tummy rub!

Sunny is an amazing and very special dog! And, although he's not actually writing this, his spirit shines through every word. We've always had dogs but, sadly, not one that is a patch on Sunny. Usually terriers - or terrorists - as we came to call them. Despite training and even an animal behaviorist, they (siblings) still acted like maniacs with anything that moved. The problem was, as one vet once said, there's no such thing as happy families in the dog world! But well-trained/behaved dogs, as Sunny has evidenced, can do so much good and ask for nothing in return. Your lovely story is heart-warming and a joy to read, Wendy. You must be very proud! Take care Debbie x

Lol. Maybe you should write about their antics! That might shame them into good behaviour if they know it's going public. Thanks so much for another very special review.

I'm at a loss for words which is a terrible confession for a writer! Of course this story is composed from the POV of Sunny who I remember well. And it maintains a light touch throughout. But it's really the story of the Good Samaritan isn't it? The story of those who, pushing therapy dogs in prams, offer comfort to suffering humanity instead of walking by on the other side

Not all of us can do what you do, Wendy. However we can do something, make a donation; send up prayers; march for peace in war zones; call up a friend in distress ; donate to food banks - the list goes on. And yes, we can write

Blessings, Julia

Thank you very much Julia - for the very kind words, and also for the extra star. How wonderful - very generous and sweet of you. I never thought of it like the Good Samaritan - that's a really lovely thought.

Thank you very much, Beth. I just can't imagine calling any dog "Crank", let alone a placid one like Sunny.

At first I thought, so it's sunny Down Under for I have read how wet the season has been and then I caught on... Sunny was back and I became glad like many of the patients that he visited.

The season has become wet again after some stunning Autumn weather. Seems we will have rain for the next eight days or so. But yes, this is Sunny, the beautiful and caring dog, keeping busy at work, rain or shine!

Yes, Sunny, we know that dogs like you are far better at a lot of things than humans, especially the part about giving love and understanding what other people need. You've been busy and I am very proud of you and your Mama for all the accomplishments. Thanks for sharing, Sunny. And tell Mama she did a good job too!
Smiles, Carol

Thank you Carol. A lovely review of my writing! My tail is wagging, and I would give you a big lick on your ankles if I could (even though Mama says I'm not to lick people! It's a kiss.)

I would laugh and kiss you right back, Sunny. Though my Mama, if she was still here, would tell me that's not sanitary. I'll take the chance!

Yes, what a good dog, we had a dog called Buddy who had short muscular legs, he was a good natured dog, good with children, and adults alike, he lived for sixteen, adored our granddaughter, when she was very young, and he was quite old, beautifully written Sunny, blessings Roy

Wendy,

What a way to begin the new week here on FS.

The six stars are for this well written and documented post and also for the outstanding work that you snd Sunny are able to do at these two centers.

Sorry, but this was the winning line or thought in your post, that Sunny is quite the comedian -
They talk to Mama but don't pat her or tell her she is cute or beautiful.

Thank you and enjoy your day...

John

Oh yes, he can be quite humorous when he chooses (especially at my expense!) Thanks so much for a super review, and also for the generous and lovely stars. Valued a lot.
