Give the Kids Their Rainbow Back
Will kids someday relate to a different rainbow first44 total reviews

Yes, kids instinctively draw rainbows in the sky. I do agree that it's God's precious promise to us, but I also know the rainbow is used by many organizations as their symbol. We need to remind children of God's promise behind the rainbow whenever we see one. Thanks for sharing. Blessings. Carol

Carol, thanks so very much for your lovely review for my rainbow poem. It is nice to know there are some who still want the kids to remember the promise of the rainbow.
Thank you for the six stars too sweetie.
Love you lots, dear friend. Love, Debi

I like your poem, I never thought of this until I read your poem.
I just read something and it had that an artist for the LGBTQ wanted rainbow as a proud statement as a symbol because it was found in nature. Found in Hennepin Healthcare online. They had at one time used other colors. But like you said, and I know, I love looking at a rainbow and what it represents. They always talked about going to the end of a rainbow.
Congratulations on your wins and I hope people understand your intent.

Though I don't have the same belief in God that you do, I do have the same sense of being a good person and treating people with respect. And I totally agree, give the rainbow ð??? back. So many of our words have been hijacked. Well said, Debi.
Cheers

Valda, like I said in my notes I don't judge my friends so whatever your belief is your business.
So thanks so very much for your lovely review for my rainbow poem. It is nice to know there are some who still want the kids to remember that right rainbow. '

Well sis, this is an excellent written treatise in the form of a rhyming poem which stalls extols the virtues of the rainbow without disrespecting or dissecting the gay community. There truly are differences of opinion in the world today and we can continue to love one another in spite of our differences. Excellent job Debi.

Hi Dan, as a man of God I do have to say it surprises me how ok you are with the whole thing. You see I worry about the children that might see only what is being taught now will be all there is in future generations. No more God's laws about marriage and our bodies.
I am not putting you down by any means but I was surprised that is all. Maybe I am just too uptight.
Thanks so very much for your lovely review for my rainbow poem. Thank you for the six stars too sweetie.
Love you lots, dear bro Debi

Hey Debi, I believe we have a cognitive disconnect here. I don't think you are anymore pro-biblical than I am. I think I believe it all. I am definitely not OK with the social agenda that much of the world is following. What I tried to say in my review of what you said, was that I agreed with the essence of what you were saying." Love the sinner hate the sin".
"And yes, it's true, I can't relate
But I have not one speck of hate
Yet, one by one the ethics slack
The kids deserve their rainbow back"
I was trying to agree with what you said in this stanza along with the words that you shared with us in the authors notes. You seemed to be saying what I believe the Bible says: love everybody but, obey the truth of the Bible.
I hope that clears up what I believe I somehow failed to convey. Love you sis.

I agree wholeheartedly with the words in your poem, as well as those in the comments. As Christians, we can have no hatred for any group or person, but God's laws are still in effect, and the kids need their rainbow back! That is a holy symbol to bring our minds to God's eternal promises.

Thanks so very much for your lovely review for my rainbow poem. It is nice to know there are a few that have also felt that God's gracious gift should not be their emblem. Love you lots, dear sis. Debi

Amen! I totally agree, give the kids the rainbow back. Like you, I don't judge but raw words from me; it makes me sick. What is worse, they are now allowing children under 14 to have gender reassignment? What is wrong with this world. Jesus said, "Let the children come unto me and forbid them not." And so the sickness continues. One day it will all be sorted, the parents need some Christian learning. That is my opinion, I won't change it. A bit like, "eat your greens, don't wanna." But it's far more serious than that. Love, kace XX

I'm not sure we have taken the rainbow away from children. If they get to go to church, they learn it is God's promise to man to never flood the world again. At my church they also learn it is about people God loves, even if some people don't.

Hi dear, I'm talking about the kids who are in the lifestyle of the faithless, non-church goers. City people who see few rainbows, but many pride ones. In our Twin Cities alone the number would scare you how little these children have access to normal, let alone Christian. So I pray for those who have kept children in sinful lifestyles.
Thanks for your kind comments, my dear friend. Debi

I can't imagine why they would have selected a rainbow to represent this. I really don't know what to think because I can't actually imagine anyone wanting to be a sexual deviant. I can't believe anyone would choose it. I think most of them hate the fact they can't find the opposite sex appealing and it is like a physical handicap. Now people tell them they need to accept the way they are made because I can't be changed so now instead of wanting to kill themselves they believe it isn't their fault. I feel sorry for them. I know some who are extremely unhappy. They would like to believe God made them that way.

I do feel the same way, Beth, and so many children are so confused about their bodies. In the school I graduated from, the school gave the transgender kids their own space, so more kids started jumping on the bandwagon and it was because they thought it cool to get ll this attention. My sister's granddaughter almost went thru with a sex change because the kids talked her into thinking she was a boy in another life. And the adults play into this and allow it to happen. I am so tired of watching it because the school and our state's government has made it so easy. Do you know that our governor invites other states kids here and says we don't have to tell your parents. Same with abortion. We are the worst state at allowing an abortion all the way thru the pregnancy. I don't even know this place anymore. It is horrible.
So you have to see my frustration.
Thanks for your lovely review, my awesome friend. Love, Debi

Let's have "gay" back too! It was such a lovely concept. Unfortunately, a lot of words have now been changed or hijacked to such a degree that we can't always use them in their original concept anymore. "Fun" has been forced into adjectivehood. It's a noun! I'm no one's partner. I'm a wife! I was not a primary caregiver. I was (and am) a mum.
Okay, I feel better now.

Hi Sallyo, Do you mean when gay meant happy? That is still a lovely term. And we have a member here who is named Gaye, and she is lovely. There are plenty of words to make up.. heck Doctor Seuss did it all the time. LOL..
And yes, I love all of your points, Sallyo.
Thank you for such a kind and refreshing review, my dear friend. Love, Debi

Hi Debi. I.love this
I really like rainbows too. There are meant to be a sign from God that better days are coming. I'm glad you wrote this. The rainbow is a pure thing
I'm not here to judge either but I believe strongly in the Bible and what it reaches. The poem is beautiful. Well written. Great job!! Love, Brenda

Hey Brenda, thanks for the lovely words for this poem and for your support. I mean no harm to anyone, but it has become too pushed in our state. And the poor children in the Twin Cities probably don't even know what a real rainbow is. Minnesota is getting horrible. I am not happy with our governor at all.
Thanks again, dear friend. Love, Debi
