I like the way you've presented this post so that it looks that much more personal, a letter of farewell to your darling love. You've skilfully used monorhymes in each stanza. This gives the verse a very pleasing, cohesive quality, conveying the poignancy and longing you feel to be reunited once more. An excellent free and rhyming verse. Well done, Willie, and good luck! Debbie

The author's words are filled with love and admiration. The poem is
engaging, descriptive and creative. I really resonated with the stanza
before the last which I found so true. The poem flows and connects
well. The poem describes well an everlasting love. The script writing
adds beauty to this poem. Great Poem, Willie!

I can feel your pain through your rhyming free-verse poem. I presume that her passing was not peaceful ---"... I'd lose her this way, but rest easy Willie, you will definitely have a place with her not only in this world but in the next.

We were married for sixty-plus years. For the last five years of her life, she suffered. Diabetes took her at seventy-six years. She has been gone ten years next April 20th. I miss her every second of every day. Thank you for your review and stars. Willie

Hi Willie,
This is a nicely done rhyming free verse poem in honor of your spouse.
If it is autobiographical, I am sorry for your loss. If it is not it does evoke the eternal love between the living and dead spouse.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Good luck in the contest.
Enjoy the rest of your day and week.
Joan

What a lovely tribute to your loved one. Losing your life partner becomes a lonely process of grieving and missing their companionship and love, and no one knows for how long until you can be reunited in heaven. When my mom passed, my dad had to wait 23 years without her (he lived to just 3 mos. short of 100). Your poem has a good flow and rhyme scheme. I enjoyed it very much.

God has promised to reunite us with our loved ones in Heaven. God does not break his promises. I know quite a few years when I was diagnosed with breast cancer my husband said, "You're not supposed to get sick. I expected you'd be around to take care of me." Oh my!!! Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. I enjoyed reading and want to wish you luck with the contest.
